[RELEASE] The Fruit of Grisaia All-ages PS Vita English Patch (Restoration patch in the works!)

header.jpg

Hello everyone! For all the people who love to play visual novels on the go here is an English patch for PS Vita version of The Fruit of Grisaia. This initial patch provides full English text for all routes. This patch is based on Steam release of The Fruit of Grisaia. All credit for TRANSLATION goes to Frontwing and Sekai Project.

 UPDATE (08/01/2019): Finally a NoNpDRM version! I'm really really sorry this took so long, but when real life calls you don't hang up. As for those wondering about the restoration patch, I've posted an update on our Discord, but basically it turned out to be too big of a task for me to handle alone and as such is not being worked on anymore. If anyone is interested in helping, feel free to contact me.
HUGE THANKS to JeyEmill for editing the images, ItsRigs for translating the settings menu and DrDaxxy for a lot of help with programming side of things!
Full patch: https://waa.ai/oJ6M (MEGA) https://waa.ai/oJ6d (MediaFire)

THIS PATCH IS INTENDED FOR V1.0 OF THE GAME

Code:
Change log
v1.12 - Some fixes in common route and switch to NoNpDRM
v1.11 - Fixed CGs not showing up bug
v1.1 - UI and scene switches translation
v1.02 - Fixed bugs in Sachi and Michiru routes.
v1.01 - Fixed bugs in "Xtreme Typos" chapter
v1.0 - Initial release

Known issues:
- As I have only briefly skipped through the game there may be some issues or untranslated text left over. Please report on our discord if you find any issues.
- Choices have underscores instead of spaces (engine limitation, fix is planned)
- Settings menu has untranslated category names (fix is planned)

1. Make sure you have latest rePatch installed
2. Unzip archive into a folder.
3. Place PFS-decrypted NoNpDRM eboot.bin, SCRIPT.PAK and OTHCG.PAK into the folder with the patch. You can get PFS-decrypted versions of the files by using VitaShell's "Open Decrypted" function.
4. Run patch.bat
5. Copy resulting eboot.bin, SCRIPT.PAK and OTHCG.PAK into ux0:/rePatch/PCSG00206/

If there's a PC version of it, sure, it's possible. But priority wise it will have to wait until I'm finished with the restoration patch.

There IS a steam version. I got excited, hoping a patch was done to translate a Vita-specific title, but I can just read it on Steam. Thanks nonetheless. More Visual Novels is never a bad thing.

Really the main purpose of this is bringing the R18 version to the Vita, which is not going to happen officially, ever. All-ages version is just a "beta" that would let people with Henkaku play the game as well, because official release will most likely require firmware >3.60.

If you tell me some Vita-specific VNs, I might put those on the list too ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Don't wanna be that guy, but with an English Vita version planned for sale at some point (through Sekai Project, granted, so it might be years before it ever comes out, if at all), wouldn't the proper choice have been to wait for the official release and release an uncensor patch for that? Hurting sales runs counter to the goal of these sorts of projects, generally. I don't give a shit about Grisaia, and I would love to see Sekai Project go away entirely, but I also don't want it to be harder for translated VNs to find ground in an actual marketplace.

It's more than likely the English translation will release requiring 3.61+, so we wouldn't be able to do anything with it.

To counter the whole "legality" of this at least a bit, uncensor patch will require you to already own a copy of the PC release. I know I'm sort of being a bad guy here, but honestly my drive behind this was to not follow sekai project and sort of prove that this port should've taken no time at all. (Yes, I know Unity port is going to generate more possibilities overall, but still...)

Answering this may defeat the purpose of what you're trying to do, but if I may be so bold... how do you plan on requiring people to "own" a copy of the PC release? It took me 10 seconds to open a new tab, go to my favorite "reacquisition" site, search for and find a link for the game.

Hmm, well, it's completely up to you how you acquire the files. As R18 version doesn't have any DRM, so I can't really check anything, and I don't really think that would be right either. I'm not trying to be the person who saves the world from piracy, if you support the developer - buy the game. Sorry if I sounded ignorant.

No, I understand. I was just curious if you had some kind of novel (get it?) DRM or something similar planned. I recently got into Vita hacking so the thought intrigued me.
