Alright, first I am going to have to ask for forgiveness if this is something I simply overlooked. I've been around GBATemp long enough to know where to look, but I've also been absent for a LONG time....anyway...

I just setup my n3ds xl with the whole Luma/FBI/Hourglass wombo combo from 3ds.guide
Now, I am looking to figure out how to properly back-up all my physical 3DS carts onto my SD card WITH their save data intact. I have tried googling, and youtubing, but all the tutorials don't apply to my setup or are super out-dated and confusing as all.

I saw that Hourglass9 can rip the cart content into a CIA, which I assume I can then install, but what about the savedata on the cart? does that come to or do I need more tools? Is there an easier way to go about this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your time

Install JKSM as a CIA and use that to back up your game saves.
Alright, so my assumption is, I backup from the cart, then once I install the CIA I can just push the save data onto the installed CIA?

Use hourglass9 to dump your game cart as a .cia
Okay, good to know at least that part is simple enough. I am under the assumption this will leave the CIA installed on my 3DS as legal and able to be played online, right?

You should be able to install that CIA and play online with it, but it shouldn"t be legit (will need signatures patches to work, note that msot CFW have signature patches by teh way).

One last silly question if anyone can fill me in.

When it's time to upgrade the SD card as I'm sure 32gb won't cut it for long...Is it as simple as copy and pasting the contents from one SD to the next?

Yes, the installed games and saves are in "Nintendo 3DS" folder, but if you have more things in the SD Card like music, photos, videos, Homebrew, etc; you should copy all to keep all of this.
