Hardware Bringing hacked 3DS to repairs?

Few days ago i hacked my Old 3DS which never got its broken L and R buttons and digitizer fixed since years ago i had that defect, and my dad thought about some time bringing my Old 3DS to repairs while in the meantime i'm waiting for him to get me a New 3DS first. However, as i've hacked my Old 3DS, i've heard that bringing it to repair to GameStop would cause it to not work anymore. Even worse, i'm one of the very few people here who doesn't like soldering and replacing parts at home because i'm afraid about failing on it.

your console being modded will not mess with a simple hardware repair in anyway.

Just make sure you have arm9loaderhax.bin installed on your ctrnand so that the console can boot without an sd card inserted.

(Also, you are hardly in the minority here for not wanting to solder/repair your own console)

How do i do that in ctrnand? I have Luma3DS as CFW
(and i'm a teenager, not a typical kid)

open FBI and navigate to your ctr nand. Open it and check to see if arm9loaderhax.bin is present.

How long ago did you install cfw? From the second half of last year onward it's common to have already done this step.

I hacked it three days ago, and yeah, i have it on there.

Then you're all set. You can have it repaired at gamestop no problem. I'd probably send it in without the sd card inserted.

Thanks a lot! Despite the fact i'm buying a New 3DS while i'm giving out my Old 3DS to my young brother as long he wants it or not.

GameStop does not do repair services. Thy're going to offer you a trade in credit for your broken system, not repair it.

Find a local games retailer to do that for you.

I have a couple of choices locally, which is pretty awesome. I recently took in a broken n3DS XL (smashed screen and a few choice bits) and the guy did it for $50 including the cost of parts.
