So way back in 2015, I hacked my vWii. It was all OK, until i decided to install a theme to my vWii without doing any research. Now, whenever I try to select a game with my Wiimote, My console freezes,
forcing me to unplug my Wii U! Even worse, I can't find any tutorials on how to fix the situation I'm having! Is there ANY way at all to fix this issue? Or is it a lost cause?

If you didn't do anything else but to change your theme just look for the vWii themes thread here. I remember someone postet the original files or at least had them so you can ask for a PM. Push them over with ftpiiu everywhere and it should solve your problem.

Will this require that I open any apps on my vWii home menu? Because whenever I do that, my Wii U freezes.

No. Just need the original theme files (.app files) & replace them within FTPiiU Everywhere slccmpt01\title\00000001\00000002\content. Im not 100% if using someone else's .app files will work though... Not sure if the're signed to console or whatever. If vWii is already bricked, Why not have a go.

EDIT: Make sure you get the .app files for your region.

One last issue (I hope). I tried opening the slccmpt01 folder, and it said Failed to retrieve directory listing. I'm using Filezilla.

Is your system menu patched by cbhc/haxchi sysmenu or mocha cfw before launching FTPiiU Everywhere?

FTPiiU Everywhere needs CHBC or Haxchi patched system menu (on sysnand, not rednand) to work correctly. any other CFWs may not work correctly.
