currently, I am trying to upgrade to a bigger sdcard, in my attempts to upgrade to both my 128GB and my 32GB cards from my 16, it will turn on (the blue power light), and just sits there, doing nothing. Right now, I am using godmode to format the card to fat32 in 32k or 64k clusters. I get the same result for both cards, though in godmode, I can se a sd nand and everything, I just can;'t actually boot from any other card than the 16GB, In linux, the partition godmode makes is labeled as boot and lsb.
I am running on sysnand with cfw 11.2.0-35-u
how do I get the card to be recognized as bootable by the o3ds, or at least get it to boot from the 32GB card?

could the name of the partition and the drive afect anything?

Are you also a windows user? I ask as you could try reformatting the card with the same cluster size with a program called guiformat.

Also is the sd card adaptor the same thickness as the sd card? yeah silly question but I have trouble with thin ones. I find ones that are as thick as SD cards are better

You need to format the SD cards as fat32
The problem is, windows doesn't like you to.
Download fat32formatter. Format the card, Copy all the files over :)

Had this problem. drove me crazy since i knew the sd card works just fine.
Had to load up a partition program. Turns out the sd card was formated but it was set as a secondary and no primary. I mark it as primary and put it in the 3ds and all was good.

Its worth checking into.

Stupid question, you copied arm9loaderhax.bin to the SD card before trying to boot with it, right?
correct, my original sdcard works, so I just tried to copy all of the data over...

For formatting cards I recommend using emuNAND9. Choose the format without emuNAND option and it will format it perfectly for the 3DS.
already tried, it doesn't want to run on my device, and I don't feel like being the "anti-idiotproofer" that destroys my sysnand and gives my a digital paperweight.

think of me as more of a perfered linux user, a android geek and modder... I have ALWAYS had a better experiance with linux when it comes to support and preformence, along with fixability

and I dislike microsoft right back... linux is my weapon of choice, the card is formatted as fat32, like I said , I have been formatting through godmode9, which only ever does fat32
besides, I am aproaching a 11GB copy manuver with a freaki'n raspi running ubuntu mate... I would perfer to check what partition is marked as the primary partition first, though I don't know why it wouldn't because it pretty much ...IS THE ONLY PARTITION...?

what brand and where did you buy it
Lexar I'm pretty sure, right now it is in a card reader... class 10 32GB, I got it for Christmas...
but I have used ev3dev and even lubuntu arm with the same card, so I do know it is still a good card, it hasn't been used for a couple months tho.

32gb can be formatted to FAT32 in windows just fine. format to FAT32, copy everything from your old sd over and this it it.
this is, if you are using a9lh sysnand of course. if you have emunand, just copying everything will not work.

last time I checked, I only have one partition on the original card I installed it on (16GB), so I do have sysnand, also, godmode does not show any signs of emunand

if you have a regular a9lh with sysnand, all you need to do to upgrade your sd is to copy everything from your existing sd to the bigger one, and done. should not give any issues at all.

Using godmode9 to format, pluging into linux, copying files, pluging into windows, checking to make sure partition is marked as primary, pluging into o3ds, get black screen: this means IT is actually seing the a9lh.bin file, but why isn't it booting?

Just copy and paste everything from the old card to the new one, making sure the new one is FAT32, done! No other issues!

(I am also just about confused as h*ll about why the card won't truly boot, but it just stops and sits there, best of all, it doesn't even auto shut down, so... it is seeing the card.?
