I agree, to each their own. I'm sure there are plenty of people that will be offended by a game like this and not want to play it. About making it more challenging, I will definitely be increasing the difficulty and editing all the trainer/kahuna/E4 teams. I just don't want to make it hard to the point that people are going to have to grind for hours to be able to beat the first trial. Neo X/Y was a unbalanced in that regard.

Completely understandably and thank you

I'm increasing the difficulty some, but it won't be anything like a Hard Mode and you shouldn't have to grind to beat people. The difficulty will come moreso from what moves/stats the Pokémon have and how they use them.
Okay, just wondering, I mean i really think some rpg are unfair and unforgiving with the constant need of exp earning and have very little to offer.

There some awful exp heavy games out there, and do a awful job of it. I mean just some common problems.
  • EXP requirement to level up is very high for each succeeding level sometimes require 10X as much as the one just completed.
  • EXP earnings aren't increasing by much during progress through the game resulting in way too many battles needed to level up.
  • EXP gained from bosses are poor.
  • Frequent random encounters (Sometimes just being 8 steps or less)
  • No way to boost exp greatly (either some special item or by special monsters with lots of exp than in other monsters)
  • Sharing exp.
The last one was a huge problem for me i always hated. Usually in RPG games like Breath of fire II on snes, the exp that is earned from the fight is divided among the ammount of party members left alive. In Breath of fire case would be a total of 8 members so is always less than what is said (Example 9999 Divided by Number of party members alive at end of battle 1/8) which really makes it harder to level up instead of each just getting 9999 they get like about 2000 each, Some people purposely kill the others to gain more of it for one character.

In a game like breath of fire 2 where only 4 members can be used at once is worst since the others you don't have won't gain exp at all, and they are requied at later levels in the game that if you played the first time you won't know that until the time comes and you have a single level 5 guy with everyone else on 30 or something, and need to get him up some. Like i said, no way to boost exp and with the divider in place and no strong monsters around with lots of exp (Cause bosses are gone) Is just a mess.

That single problem akes the game hard and not fun cause you are always fighting and not progressing.:ninja:

I completely agree! I started out playing RPGs on the NES & SNES, so I know all about terrible exp grinding. Rest assured that while this romhack will be more challenging that Sun/Moon, it will not be unforgiving or a grindfest.

So based on what i learned, final fantasy 4 is one of your projects you worked on right? Have you played all the variations of them? Do you feel that any of them is either easier or harder, or that they fixed some of the problems with difficulty at all, at least related to exp?

I love Final Fantasy IV, it was the first Final Fanstasy I ever played. I actually share a name with one of the characters. I released a translation patch for the DS game back in 2007 when it was only out in Japan. As for difficulty between versions, it's actually pretty crazy. The American Super Nintendo release was called Final Fantasy II due to the fact that Square hadn't brought the NES II to the USA yet. They actually toned down the difficulty a heck of a lot and it's know also as Final Fantasy II easy type. It had the best balance of experience and leveling up in my opinion though, the original Japanese version was incredibly hard and a huge grindfest.

So is the other ports like PSX GBA PSP NDS are based on the original japanese version or the USA English version easy type? I mean i never played any final fantasy games on snes besides mystic quest but i only played GBA which is based on wonderswan port and the PSP complete collection. I was gonna play the NDS but since android and PC ports exist i was planning to get them once on sale.

The GBA and PSP seem about the same, is not easy and that extra dungeon lunar ruins are harder even on the max level. The only reason why i assume Final fantasy 4 was hard is cause there is a secret ending in Chrono trigger that mentions final fantasy 4 being harder than the game. :P

Most of the other versions are based off the original Japanese version, with some additions from Easy Type added in...but they retain the difficulty of the original.

I finally got pk3DS working with "wild encounters" now, it was crashing everytime I made any changes before. I'm currently working on editing the wild encounters throughout the first island now. Generation I & II starters will be catchable on the first Island, plus some other fan favorites such as Ralts, Larvitar, Honedge!

I need help. I am on the last step. I copied and passed the contents of MyFolderName_ to ExtractedRomFS folder.
Then I opened up hacking toolkit 3ds typed cr to rebuild a cia and then I press 0 to the version parts and then it just creates a CustomRomFS.bin file instead of a cia

I'm definitely going to play this once it gets developed more! Out of curiosity what are some things people might find offensive in this game?

As long as you have a sense of adult humor, i guess like watching adult swim cartoons, or mature ecchi anime, then you shouldn't be offended. Is a mature game so just remember to expect the stuff you see in one, like sex reference, suggestive themes and other adult content. This was made by a pervert (She said it not me) So unless you think like her you will be okay. :P

I am very sorry, I made some mistakes in the instructions. I've uploaded the fixed files and it is much simpler now. You don't even have to extract and rebuild the RomFS anymore.

Sorry for the confusion, send me a PM if you still need help!

Is it possible you can add a option for a title id change so you can have two different games installed as cia? I just thought that so maybe people don't have to worry about the save data problems if there is any using a rom hack over the original.

EDIT: The instructions in the GDrive link is still the same...
So even if I re-do everything, I will still encounter the same issue.

I will look into it, I would prefer to use a different TitleID...but it's also known that Pokémon games will blackscreen or not work correctly if they don't have the right TitleID.

Let me see what I can do about that. E:3

Okay! I also updated the patch, it's v0.12 now and I'm no longer using Kobazco's encounter tables. Route 1&2 are all that have been done so far, but there's lots of rare Pokémon. Check out the 1st post for more info.

I wasn't aware of this, but it would be nice to have a game specifcially for the rom hack rather than replacing the official. Also will all the pokemon be included in the single game so trading isn't required?

I'm not sure about that one yet. I would like to make all the Pokémon obtainable in the game, but it probably won't be done until after the v1.0 release. But do expect to be able to catch so many more Pokémon on every route, I was going through the encounter data and GameFreak was really lazy with their lists. Most tables have only 3-5 Pokémon that are repeated, when there's room for usually 10 or more encounters. Check out this screencap from some of the Pokémon you'll find on Route 1!

this is nowhere near as worse as pokemon my ass version
I'll guess I'll take that as a compliment, thanks lol.

Well i guess, maybe for the encounter rate? You know having more pokemon in one area reduces the chance of meeting specific pokemon, 10 different pokemon means 1/10 chance of zubat for example, as 5 mean 1/5 chance, lower pokemon count, increase encounter rate of specific pokemon the player desires. Remember trying to catch a chansey with lucky egg in safari zone wasn't easy cause of the low encounter rate.

That's not how it works, they all have different percentages for appearing. I've tested the patch and had no problem encountering all of them...including the ones with a 1% encounter rate.
