No, no and no...

3.63 can't do backups, can't do homebrew, can't do psp iso, can't do PS1 loading, a vita in 3.63 can do psp homebrew only as of now and you can't even set it up from the system itself but have to use anothet system in lower firmware to set it up, there is no way around it, there is no downgrades and there is no new hacks being worked on that firmware.

Just get a 3.60 instead if you want homebrew and such... Get 3.63 if you want PSN.

Unless it's sub $50 cheap then I wouldn't bother, just keep looking for a <3.60 unit - should be able to find a clean one for $80-$100 and you'll never have to spend a dime on software unless you want to.

The only reason I would buy it if it's really cheap is that there may be known but unreleased exploits that are being held until Sony abandons the vita and ceases to patch exploits. This is pure speculation of course, but vita hackers continue to pull the system apart, and downgrade rumours do bounce around from time to time.

if it's dirt cheap, grab it. even if it's just for official psn stuff. for the right price, in good shape, you could always then trade it for one sub 3.60 if you're so inclined

No way to spoof games that require 3.61 and above though.

Not as of yet, and the Vita's main software really isn't "yet to come" so I think the % of the library which would require 3.61+ by the end of consoles life would be less than 2% even if it never becomes capable to play using TaiHEN or HenKAKU.

They should have some psvita slims on amazon that are on 3.60 from third party sellers. I bought a new one from ENTER PLUS =TOKYO= on amazon for around 200.

Not sure if they still have any 3.60 in stock, i bought mines around 3 months ago, but it did come on 3.60

I just sold my 3.60 Vita with 32GB for 150€ which is roundabout what I paid for it two years ago, so yeah if it's 3.60 then it will be a bit more pricey compared to other consoles.

If you find a ps vita with a price like that again, get it. It would be useful for psn and other official ps stuff.

Christ how the hell do you find a Vita that cheap? That's how much my PSTV was (before trade-in credit).

You shouldn't buy the Vita at all, the console is dead. I guess you could use it for emulators, but there are only a few good games. Not worth it IMHO.

Yes i did not but planing to...

Ark-2 was released for 3.60 yesterday and it also works on 3.63, so now 3.63 CAN do PSP ISO and PS1(no sound) loading aside from from PSP homebrew.

As said before, you STILL need to set it up using another console running 3.60 or have someone do it for you and send you the PSP bubble.

send me psp bubbles?

Games on the vita menu are shown as bubbles, you can backup and restore this bubbles (games/aps) across 3 activated systems.

So, someone with a 3.60 can log with your PSN account (or dummy account), download a free PSP demo, set up the eCFW, back it up to a PC and send it to you.

Then you just transfer the bubble back to your system and you'll have it ready to play PSP games and homebrew.
