Im debating on if i should install CBHC to my wii U. i have haxchi and replaced my ds title with the homebrew channel. But i am on the fence about installing CBHC, from what i understand is that if that ds VC for whatever reason gets moved from internal to external, gets deleted, updated, reset or wii U format i am facing a brick. i know the setup is fairly easy but i am worried if anything happens to that VC im screwed with no fail safe.

To me its very easy, it's just a matter of installing it and forgetting about it. Then when there's an update and you want to update cbhc, simply reinstall it with the newer installer version. You can even remove cbhc anytime with the installer by pressing b. It's very hard to mess up, just install it then do the usual stuff you do on your Wii U and ignore it. The latest CBHC has protection against installing over it or updating it.

don't use mocha I faced the weird corrupted cbhc installation bug with it and I had to go to hbl and restart all the proccess just use the mii maker expoit to launch hbl and then install cbhc and autoboot to system menu which is faster (includes sig patches) and remember dont connect any USB when installing cbhc

That's the wrong way round, you're supposed to remove all usb when installing CBHC

And as the instructions also say, don't use both cbhc and mocha unless you need wupserver/rednand, else cbhc's minicfw is superior (faster loading, even without SD, and limited protection of the DS title)

Also, don't run Mocha before installing CBHC.
I might add to the stickied FAQ that it's better to run the installer without being in a CFW state.
edit: added!

I dont feel safe using CBHC (I used it just a day), i was constantly anxious, so i just came back and installed Haxchi, which i have to launch only one time per boot, it's easy and it tooks me some seconds :|
Yes but this has nothing to do with a real brick risk. You just felt anxious.

Someone needs to straighten everyone out on these "brick risks"! A sticky or something. The truth is every hack has a way to brick. Every time you do any homebrew you risk it. If you're afraid that you can't follow directions then don't be hackin on your Wii u!

CBHC has it's risks, that is true. The key to being safe while installing and using CBHC is to know about these risks beforehand. As always before modifying my consoles I sat down and did some reading. @C0mm4nd_ also wrote up a very nice FAQ about HaxChi and CBHC here which helped me a lot while deciding if installing CBHC was the way to go for me and if I really knew all the risks that I could face with it. So I went ahead and purchased one of the needed NDS VC titles from the eshop and put in the far lower right corner on the very last page of the Wii U's menu, where it would always be out of reach. Then, I started the game the normal way without installing anything over it at first to see if it worked. Once I confirmed the game was working, I unplugged all USB devices that were connected to the Wii U. The FAQ stated that the safest route would be to install normal HaxChi before installing CBHC, so I did just that and tested once again if HaxChi worked as intended. Everything was working fine, so I went ahead and installed CBHC. The whole process took mere minutes and CBHC was ready to be configured. I started the NDS VC title again and was greeted with CBHC's simple menu. From there, I set it to autoboot system menu to have sigpatches loaded upon starting the Wii U.

You'll only end up bricking if you can't read correctly.

If you passed grade school, you shouldn't brick it.

Installs just fine while having a USB HDD plugged in. It just has a slight chance of freezing on a white screen after its done. Since I use a secondary haxchi, I usually play it safe by updating cbhc right after updating haxchi. Only time having a USB plugged in is dangerous is when you update haxchi and you want to update cbhc to be sure you didn't overwrite it, and it freezes on the white screen without a chance to successfully update cbhc.

To be honest, my final setup consists of Haxchi and CBHC but I'm done updating haxchi, I never have to update it ever again because it woroks fine how it is. So the only thing I will update is CBHC from here on. So it's nothing but safety from here. No chance of messing up.

It's controversial to use haxchi alongside cbhc but I personally prefer it since Homebrew Launcher Channel can be imcompatible with certain things.

Basically install CBHC and forget about it. Install a different DS VC + Haxchi and forget about it. Two benefits for the price of one.

I hadn't connected any usb tho. It happened to me because I was using mocha cfw, I was too lazy to go to loadiine.ovh I launched haxchi and then mocha cfw so without turning off my wiiu I could launch homebrew launcher channel RPX. I deleted and reinstalled haxchi and cbhc. Haxchi was installed normally cbhc was in black screen with no autoboot message and it was just autobooting mocha and had bootloop and then I pressed the key combination and I went to homebrew launcher and unistalled it x'D then I restarted all over the process with no mocha in the bg. I had try that with mocha cfw 3 times and then I decided to not and the 4rth time it worked so I guess that's not random
