Hello! I'm having some problems launching PW: Ace Attorney installed on emunand.

I've installed the wad that i used to play on my wii, now on the vWii, so the WAD is ok. When i load the game on USB Loader GX or Wii Flow(using emunand), it just crashes and goes back to the USB Loader GX or vWii menu.

Tried to change the IOS, but USB Loader GX and Wiiflow can just use 200-255 IOS, but PWAA uses IOS 56 or 57. I don't know if thats the problem.

I could install the WAD directly to NAND, but i've read that isn't reccomended to do that on vWii.

Am I doing something wrong?

So... Can i install a trustable WAD on vWii that I used on my old Wii?
Yes, if it works on a Wii (and it's not a core system title - wiimenu, ios, cios - titleid 00000001-*) it works on Vwii

Except for some homebrew channels, mainly forwarders, but they don't pose a danger to the console - they just don't work

Yes all wads will work the problem was that some custom channels and forwarders could brick vwii if they worked on an original wii

OK, I'm confirming it. Installed the Ace Attorney wads and it worked with no problems.

Thanks a lot.

from the guide
If you are unsure which to use, I'd very strongly recommend using d2xv10-beta53-alt-vWii. NAND emulation is really only used for a handful of things, the biggest of which is installing tons of virtual console games. If you don't plan to go absolutely insane with your virtual console installations, which you really shouldn't if you want to run emulators, then there is no real advantage to using d2x-v10-beta52-vWii.

So ... if you change to d2x-v10-beta52-vWii you will see that wiiware/vc titles work much better (doesn't mean that you Ace title does work!)

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card

Slightly slower loading but a bit more convenient
