So as you all may know a new arm9 exploit came out that you could use to downgrade to 2.1 and install a9lh.Sadly Quite a few people have been doing some stuff on 2.1 which would brick them and then creating a post witch has been leading too multiple posts on gbatemp of the same issues so I decided to make a post on what to NOT do and how to fix it if you did it

1)Don't follow a video guide or written guide witch isn't 3ds.guide not following 3ds guide could lead to bricks just look at that one video guide witch had a otp in it that bricked many 3ds's.If you did follow that one guide with the otp you could do a hardmod to unbrick.

2)Deleting your nand backup or not doing a nand backup. This is how most people or bricking by then doing the next thing I will mention. This could easily be fixed by doing a nand backup before 2.1 ctrnand transfer and if you already started the ctrnand transfer or did the ctrnand transfer then just continue 3ds.guide intill you get to section IV of installing a9lh and do this ctrnand transfer https://3ds.guide/9.2.0-ctrtransfer and then start backup from section V of installing a9lh of 3ds.guide and finish the guide and then you should make a nand backup using hourglass incase something bad happens in the future.

3)Updating while on 2.1 . So people have been updating through a cart or system settings because either because they no longer want a9lh or no longer have a nand backup. If you no longer have a nand backup and haven't updated from 2.1 follow my instructions above and if you want to uninstall a9lh then rerun safe a9lh installer through a payload or replacing your luma's arm9loaderhax.bin and press the uninstall button. If you already did this and don't brick try acesing decrypt 9 and do a nand restore and if you dont have a nand backup do this but accessing the applications through homebrew https://3ds.guide/9.2.0-ctrtransfer and if you bricked and have a nand backup then you can do a hardmod.

4)Closing a new3dsxl lid on putting it on sleep mode. Not many people have been doing this but still worth mentioning. This is why you should proceed without taking brakes. Their is no way to fix this!!!

5)Formating a 2ds. Barley anybody has done this but still worth mentioning. The only way to fix this is a hardmod witch requires a nand backup.

With these warnings and fixes in mind enjoy installing a9lh:)

Don't wanna be rude but do you really think that if a noob doesn't want to read a short banner on the top of the page then they will come and read this instead?
Well I am just sick of noobs not following the guide and then coming here for help so this might be able to help them instead of them creating a million help me I didn't follow the guide threads.

step 2 - deleting and not Deleating

step 3 - through and not threw

I'm sick of this shit too but this doesn't do any effect. This is the 5th PSA I have seen in the last 2 days on this site. It isn't doing much (if anything) because noobs are still bricking and stuff.

Noobs are going to be noobs. You can't change that.

Well at least I have something to show them instead of having to write out the same thing a million times:P

Note that, strictly speaking, this is spelling, and oddly enough you've spelt grammar incorrectly as well.
Yeah my spelling and grammar is crap and I don't want to have to google a word every time I spelled something wrong.

ctrl+v is a thing
Comes in handy at times like these

I already install luma3ds + a9lh and the otp.bin is in a9lh folder I think is that ok?
Btw what does OTP.bin do?
That is okay you should have one after installing a9lh if you had it before a9lh and it wasent yours you would of bricked.
It is some data in your 3ds that is used to install a9lh that we need to get so we have to downgrade to 2.1 to get it. If you deleated it nothing bad will happen but it could be useful in the future.(I am not a genius so I don't know everything about it but that is what I know)

:)
thats bullshit. If a N3DS is on FW 2.1 and the lid is being closed it bricks the MCU because the n3ds is handling the sleep mode in a slightly different way, which will brick the MCU, and this is UNRECOVERABLE. So there you go.

Not every guide besides Plailect's is s**t. If you don't try to be a know-all and do things you're not sure about, you won't brick. For example, Plailect don't have the newes version of safehax+fasthax, which now works without a cartridge. Quick Note: Already updated my guide with it.

Little question: is it permitted to swear here on Temp?
