The guide has a 9.2 ctrtransfer section which includes N3DS images. Do note that you'll probably lose the ability to run DS games because the original NCSD header is gone.

You need it to update? You can't use others nand backups.... Yet (sighax coming soon TM). If that's what you need the backup for use the 9.2 ctrnand transfer part of the guide or you can update straight to 11.2 I'm pretty sure without problem..

OP, did you at least install A9LH successfully so that you boot into Luma3DS settings when you power on the 3DS? If so, Following this guide will allow you to update, but since you didn't backup your NAND, your old files are probably gone forever.

Oh what's special about the n3ds that it can't update normally? Is it because it was never meant to run 2.1?

That's exactly it. It's O3DS FW, so an update will go to O3DS 11.0.

Turning off immediately after turning on means you're missing arm9loaderhax.bin from Luma3DS.

No 2.1 CTR firms can't load on Luma or anything else so that's normal behaviour if your still downgraded

Luma did add support for 2.x on SysNAND a while ago. On N3DS, due to the keyslot change, you will get a CTRNAND mount error.

Shutting off immediately after turning on means arm9loaderhax.bin isn't there.

Only when the SD isn't in the system
OP, if you turn off your 3DS, hold Select, and turn on your 3DS, do the Luma3DS settings load? If so, you have successfully installed A9LH and Luma3DS. Since you skipped part of the guide and apparently didn't back up your NAND, you have to follow this guide to restore your 3DS: https://3ds.guide/9.2.0-ctrtransfer

Had you actually paid attention to the guide and made it to Section IV - Restoring the System, you would have seen the part where it clearly told you to do this. People who cannot read guides have no business messing with the 3DS. Don't expect anymore help from me.

He didn't catch the part where a9lh won't work without an sd unless he installs the payload to ctrnand heck he could figure it out how is it gonna boot without a payload it thosent even need to tell him. I think he just skimmed through it and skipped the hard looking parts lol
