Listen to @CoolAlpha, it's cheaper to get someone to hardmod your system than it is to buy a crappy flashcart
I'm on Ver. 11.0.0-33E and it looks tricky downgrading and needing various trigger games or access to another 3ds

Will hardmod your system for under $40, and put cfw on it for you. Much better game compatibility, and homebrew.

I would try the sky3ds reddit actually, not a lot of people here buying flashcarts anymore - it just doesn't make sense to at this point.
If your on 11.0 then installing CFW just go pretty easy.

@sharpharp Even 11.2 can be downgraded now (with fasthax + safehax), the guide should be updated with instructions for it soon, instructions for 11.0 and 11.1 are already up. Nothing extra is needed, just a 3DS and something to transfer files to a SD card with (probably a PC)

Followed the https://3ds.guide/get-started and got to the bit where you play the sound, it briefly flashed up something on the top screen about robin homebrew then went blank, while the bottom screen in red...
I have the Starter folder in the root of the sdcard, alongside the otherapp.bin and the soundhax-eur-03ds.m4a in the root
In 3ds sound, when I go via the sdcard it only finds something called <3 nedwill 2016
What do I do now?

Do you have the 3dsx.boot on the root of your sd? Is your 3ds connected to the internet?
Your suppose to have the contents of that starter folder on the root of your SD Card.
But... wait, the zip file doesn't even have a starter folder to begin with.... So I am unsure why you ended up with one... or why you put those contents inside a folder called "starter"
When I extracted the zip, it automatically created a folder called starter and put the contents in there, so thicko me just copied the folder over to the root...
OMG, just copied the contents to the root and I now have the homebrew launcher :-)

@sharpharp I tried to buy a sky+ from 3dscarduk.com last week but fear I got Stitched up. Website now down, removed from sky official resellers and no email confirmation of my sale. They did take the money. I fear all the UK sellers are actually abroad. I've now sent my 3ds to @gamesquest1 for a hard mod. Lots of good rep on these forums and very helpful. Once back I'll post some pics and feedback.
Although cfw feels only a few days away from being something I could have done myself I think hard mod still gives me the best option and safety
Very reasonable price so I'm actually embarrassed I went the sky+ route first. If my card does turnup I'll be selling on ebay just to get my money back.
I say work out cfw yourself or send off for a hard mod. Stay clear of sky+ cards.
