Since downgrading for 11.2 is coming real Soon™, how much space will I need in my SD card for the whole process?
I have an 8gb sd card and about 1.8gbs left.

I just bought a 16gb card but that will arrive only in a couple of days and I know you can just move A9LH to another card by just copying the contents over.
But since that will take some time to get here, I'll just do it with my 8gb card.

You'll need a nand backup to be safe I imagine, which is about 1.8-1.9gb roughly depending on your model of 3ds, the a9lh itself plus all required files less than 10mb.

You'll need about 200mb-300mb safely for the files to do the whole process, thats including downgrade files etc

Just deleted a couple of demos I had and now I have about 2.4gbs left.
I have an O3DS and I've read the O3DS only needs max 950mb.
Also, after doing the backup, can I just dump it in my PC? Just to be safe and have as much space as possible for the installation itself.

In the event you do the downgrade method, stick to SDHC SD cards (32GB or below). SDXC cards (64GB and higher) sometimes can make the downgrade fail, and users like myself have seen speed drops with CIA installations, as well as Decrypt9 boot time, and Home Menu icons delayed upon boot. Format the SD as FAT32, and use 64K clusters.
