Quick question guys, I have looked but cannot find an answer. So I have has my console hacked for a long time now and I have CBHC installed and everything is working great. My question was every time I feel like playing a game (backup) on my SD card I have to open the HBL channel then load up loadiine then select my game. Is there a way to make this game a channel on the main page so I can click the game and it just loads right up? Thanks in advance
Of course there's a way to get an icon for each game directly installed to the system menu, it's what users are doing since end of October 2016.
You don't use Loadiine anymore, and just install the games "officially" to the console. the console see the games as if they were officially installed, so you can just run them from the system menu.
look in this forum's section, the thread is stickied (look for "USB Loading" even if it's not limited to USB... I might rename that thread's title)

It depends on your CBHC/Haxchi version.
Since CBHC v1.5, it does nothing, Fix94 added a safety to prevent the install/overwrite of the title used by coldboot.
on previous version, you full brick your console, as you install a fakesigned ticket, and the console can't boot it without a custom firmware.

hello..

I have a few questions re: haxchi

1. once haxchi is installed, is it available to all profiles on the console? if so, what happens if the main install profile is deleted?

2. once haxchi is installed and then moved to USB, can it be used on other Wii U consoles for quick access to HBL or iosuhax ?

thanks

BTW, for example, if you have an EUR console, use EUR title for CBHC and install the same title but in USA version so you can use it.
I think this could work

I think flimflam guide is fine.

in my guide I tied to make short description steps, it's still not easy enough?
I should write a proper guide (like flimflam), but that is taking time too, which is taken by real life too :P

the answer was on the same page.
https://gbatemp.net/threads/what-is-haxchi-or-cbhc-faqs-and-info.453729/page-6#post-6958052

We should re-edit the first post as it seems a lot of users are reacting to this not being free anymore.

I'm happy to report that after reading your guide and FlimFam's...... and a bit more reading, I successfully installed Haxchi and Coldboot Haxchi! When my Wii U boots up, it auto-boots with sig-patching enabled and I have a nice blue, HB launcher icon in my system menu! Thanks

I'm glad you could do it, and that you found my guide useful.
I hope I didn't miss a step, or wrote something bad, you are the first user following it (or telling me).
Would you change anything from my guide? add/remove a step or explanation?

I wrote it quickly and it wasn't intended as a big tutorial, I just answered a user. flimflam guide is more details and has more information.

you want to update CBHC?
run the installer, it will replace the old CBHC with the new CBHC.
you don't need to uninstall, just run the new one and it will update.

Cyan, is there any prerequisites to installing this besides buying one of the necessary NDS games? I have a totally stock 8gb wiiU with a 4.x fw on it. Never Internet connected it since purchased. Don't have any DNS blockers setup like the old hoax needed either.
Can the Wii be connected to the eshop and updated to latest version or will that prevent haxchi? Is there a fw where haxchi is blocked?
Will the WiiU homebrew launcher allow anything to be played off SD cards/USB drives like the old Wii HBC did? Thanks for the info!

you can enable online and connect the console to eshop.
You don't need to actually connect to eshop to update the console, you can go to settings>update.

The current latest version is the requirement for all hacks (v5.5.1).
After you updated to 5.5.1, you might want to block future released updates (not sure if there will be any, it's just a protection) by setting Tubehax DNS or another server blocking method.

Haxchi is not really blocked, more like "not compatible" on old firmware versions.
it works on all 5.5.1 regions (JPN/EUR/USA)

the homebrew launcher only launches homebrew.
There is a "WiiU backup loader" called loadiine to load games from SD card.
Loadiine might be updated to work with USB (that's only an hypothesis from me ! don't take it for granted)

Other homebrew are not really used to "load anything to be played".
Instead, there is a homebrew used to install official game's dumps to the WiiU, instead of using a backup loader you just use the console to launch the game like if it was a legitimately bought game from eShop.

But some games will require signature check function to be patched, this is where Haxchi and CBHC come into play.
not ALL games installed to the console need signature check or Custom Firmware, only the "eShop only" games. it means all games which exist in disc format are fine. All games which exists only in digital format will require signature check (because they are tied to the console used to buy that game, while disc are working on ALL consoles).
additionally, the patcher is also patching the game's region, so it's useful if a game disc is only available on japan but you want to play it on your USA console.

Thanks Cyan. Pretty much what I wanted to know. So I still need to buy one of the DS games on eshop, and after installing haxchi I don't need Internet connection anymore correct? I don't ever play online or plan on it unless its required for a hack.

So I take it with an 8gb Wii that a 32-64gb SD card can store/load retail games rips instead of the internal HDD correct? (Or is it only USB drives that are handling that?)

maybe it's (or was) country restricted?

if you use loadiine, you can play games from SD card.
if you use the "game's ticket install" method, then it's internal or USB only.

About haxchi, you are correct. no more internet connection needed to launch homebrew.

Brain Age was the first GamePad notification. Those who had GamePad notifications turned on at the time could (and still can) get it for free.

About haxchi, you are correct. no more internet connection needed to launch homebrew.

But doesnt loadiine still require an internet/host connection each time you run it, or did that become eliminated somehow? (I looked over the loadiine sticky but maybe I'm misunderstanding since I haven't used it before)
I just take it having the 8gb version won't let much get installed to the internal HDD and basically loadiine to a SD card or usb is the only real option. Just was hoping for a no internet method in place.

I use my Wii U offline (for now), deleted the internet settings just to be sure not to pick up any sudden update.
I want tu update my haxchi to the latest version, can i start wii u console, start old haxchi, start homebrew using the old haxchi and run installer of the new one?
I dont wanna go online and use loadiine.ovh to start my homebrew.
