Homebrew soundhax/Homebrew Launcher for region bypass only

Hey guys, I'm completely inexperienced with 3DS firmware/homebrew and I just wanted to check on what I should be aware of if I want to use soundhax to get to the launcher to play JPN games on a US N3DSXL.

1. In the case of a 3DS official firmware update, will I have problems accessing regular US games/eshop?
2. Can I access the Japanese eShop for DLCs/pay for them if they're not free?
3. Can I access Spotpass or online content for JP games for say, Devil Survivor 2: Break Record?

1. no, 2. no, 3. sometimes. carts only for homebrew launcher by itself

Okay so if I import a cart I will likely be able to Spotpass then. Guess I'll try homebrew out!

spotpass likely no however playing online should work fine
