Who's your main in a fighting game ?

So we all love fighting games, who doesn't ? but who is YOUR main?
the fast, light speedster ?
the slow heavy grappler ?
the combo monster ?
also, which game is said MAIN from and why did you chose to go with that character ?

well to start off , mine is Ragna the Bloodedge from BlazBlue , not only is he great character story-wise, he's also really fun to play as, having a really good combo set and fairly good speed, he can also absorb his opponent's HP via his drive, Soul Eater, in return however he has the lowest Defense of all the characters in the series, meaning you have to be fast on your fingers not to get wrecked by characters like Tager and Hakumen . all in all, he"s a really good choice for both newbies and veterans alike .

Don't really have any and I aim to be able to do well against the AI in. It has been said that from a game perspective that choosing a different character makes for a different game, I would take it one step back and say by choosing a character you are choosing a subset of the game you are playing that time and consequently to play the game you have to play them all. Though most competitive fighting game tournaments are filled with wankers and ran by those that have barely heard of the idea of competition I find competitive smash brothers to be truly detestable in their approach to competition design.

Samurai guy or staff guy in Soul Calibur franchise, though the guy with a fencing sword also does well.

Link, young link, samus or marth/roy, though I play everybody save heavy characters and mario/luigi in fairly regular rotation.

Police guy in Mortal Kombat whatever it was. Otherwise sub zero or the robots. That said other than the bonus characters I played them all.

basically all of them in virtua fighter, possibly leaning towards the ninja guy or the drunk guy.

stretchy guy in street fighter though again I play most in heavy rotation. Not really played any post the PS1 though.

Tend to go blaze, skate or zan in Streets of Rage.

Tend to go amazon lady in Golden Axe.

Been too long since I played a dead or alive game. It all good there.

Tekken. Never got along with the guy that dances a bit, though he was frequently used to devastating effect against me.

The only fighting games I really play are Mortal Combat X and Smash.

Ike is my main in Brawl and 4. Bowser is my main in Melee. Captian Falcon is my main for the original. I play heavy characters.

I main scorpion in Mortal Combat. But I go Radien also

I usually lean towards characters that I think look cool. And those usually wind up being the fast characters. I never play as heavier/slower fighters, as I'm not good with that type.

Aka: Fire Emblem people in Smash, Naoto in P4A, Gohan in the DBZ games, and Bang in Blazblue.

In SSB4, I play Marth. He's light enough to have good air mobility but heavy enough to live long.

In Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3, my team is Ryu/Chris/Wekser. I like them because they have good health and damage and I know a couple combos with them.

Sm4sh is really the only fighting game I play, and I can never settle on a main... Although above all else I use Toon Link and Lucas. Toon Link has some fairly deadly combo potential, and Lucas is great at both landing damaging moves and killing.
Although I also use Roy and Falco fairly often. Both are essentially Glass Cannons, but Falco can dodge stuff better. Roy just kills at absurdly low percentages

I only play street fighter 2 these days and I main Cammy and Ryu, they're the two characters that I find easiest to play as, despite Cammy being seen as one of the more difficult characters to master... (inb4somebody shitposts about 'it' in this thread)

firstly in Tekken my favourite is Bruce Lee(so sorry, it is Marshall Law, but i love saying Bruce Lee ) because Wataahh ,and Jack (the robot dude), and also Alisha i love her <3 and Leo ( i love him/her )
too many favourites in Tekken!
