is that a chip for ps2?
are you trying to load games in a ps2?
how about getting a free mc boot installed to your memory card?

sorry i can't help ya, however if you find dead websites on your searches you may try to use archive.org to see cached pages, it helps in searching for lost files

Laser protection diodes do fuck all anyway.

V5-6 doesn't suffer from the Mechacon crash issue which was the laser killer. V8 (or maybe 9, can't remember), until 12 do, Sony fixed it with 13 and onwards. Only fix that actually works properly are the pic chip fixes that shut off the laser if they detect the crash.

That's right it was fixed with v13+. The comsoft v4 fix was also pretty good. Does anyone know if any of these modern Matrix Infinity clones (e.g. Modbo 5.0) fixed the one game that broke with the 1.93 firmware "Hot Shots Tennis" -freezing on start screen/graphic distortion?

Ok. I installed the chip. All are ok . At startup it shows me "infinity" logo but after that, no action. I cant enter in chip menu, the discs wont work (only original ones). I double checked the wires connection and they are ok . what can be the problem? Any ideea? Thanx!

Just a reminder, the Diode "fix" also didn't fix anything. The root of the problem was the mechacon crash that happend, when bad media was used.
If anyone of you guys deals with such a console, please use the Matrix PIC fix and nothing else.

EDIT: Yeah, basically what @Armadillo said :D

Can you take a picture of the install?

Edit: Make certain the wires for GND and 3.3 are thicker. I also agree the "diode fix" is worthless. The Comsoft v4 fix is an elaboration on the original "Matrix Fix" and was also more expensive but popular while it was still being sold.

The GND and 3.3 wires are way too long. What awg wire is being used? The GND and 3.3 should be at least 26 awg (thicker).

Edit: Try replacing only the GND and 3.3 wires with even thicker wire, if it's difficult to get the chip closer to the points.

The chip might not be getting sufficient power. Perhaps it's like when installing a 7404 Hex Inverter into a Retron 1 (NES Clone) to improve compatibility (e.g. Castlevania 3). The original AC adapter needs to be replaced to provide more power to the system to prevent corruption in game.

PS2 chips can just be fussy.

Matrix logo is provided by the points going to the bios iirc. That part, not too fussy and will generally always show, unless the install is completely wrong and broken.

Part that boots backups can be really fussy and refuse to play nice for a number of reasons. If changing 3.3V/GND to thicker gauge stuff does nothing for booting backups, then you want to be looking at A G H I B. Shorten them if you can, try not to have them cross over each other too much etc.

ok.. i came back with same problem. i checked and rechecked wires 3 times. (i rewired conections) I changed power wires... same problem. just infinity logo and nothing more. no boot no nothing... when i press circle shoud enter in chip boot menu no?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

i've seen in a post that 3.3v was tooked from other side, more near the cpu. But i cant see very clear from where it is conected. I think is conected in that resistor. i leave the pic in here...

the guy who belong this picture had same problem. infinity logo and nothing more. He missed to conect H solder. Than said:

1st post : I found a PAL Matrix Infinity V5 diagram that instructed not to add G at all so I tried removing it last night but that didn't help. I'll try connecting H. Will probably redo all the connections on that side of the chip too, I'll try not routing the cables under chip legs too.//"

2nd post: Seems like that was the solution, connecting both G and H. How frustrating! Oh well, glad it is fixed now.
After that works fine.

I dont understand.... conecting G+H togheter? wont do a short circuit and burn the chip?!
maybe my chip its not working properly .. :(

Triangle + circle. Not just circle. Careful going into the menu, earlier modbo chips would die from accessing/saving settings. I'm not sure how the 750 behaves there.

Doesn't look like he connected them to each other. Seems to me from the start he did not connect point H as some diagrams claim pal consoles don't need it (even though it's apparently the other way around, ntsc consoles not needing it) and the solution was to connect both H & G to the correct points on the motherboard.

The alternative 3.3V is the via (the circle/hole), you can see it on this diagram for a different chip.
