Would there be any adverse effect if I deleted health and safety? Id doubt it because it doesn't do anything, but just checking so I don't brick.

Never tried. Do it and if it bricks just restore the NAND backup you definitely have.
It is safe to delete. When I did a region change almost a year ago, a bunch of optional titles were missing from my CIA pack (Street Pass Mii Plaza, AR Games, Face Raiders, SWKBD (caused a black screen crash every time a title requested to use it)), and the 3DS booted up just fine without them (and I did not even have A9LH back then, so you should be even safer

You will get an update nag if you delete that stuff. It's better to just stick them in a folder and put it at the end of your home menu.

You will get an update nag on latest firmware. This is what I was trying to say.......
Oh whoops, I thought you meant I would only get the nag if I was on a lower fw. Is there a way to block the nag?

You can use TubeHax DNS. But then you can't use the eShop. Not sure if it will prevent online play or not.
Never use the eshop anyway. I use my 3ds mostly for emulation. I'll look into it if I start having problems. So far I haven't seen a nag screen.
Are you still getting on alright with it ? I mean no nags ?
like you i use only for emulation I really need to free up about 8 titles reached the 300 limit no more room for 16 bit goodness
So wanted to delete health and safety, mii plaza and mii maker and lastly activity log. I hate seeing how many hours I used per day on games on reason i stopped playing total war. Also it's funny how on one hand you have how many steps you did and the other is how many hours wasted and on what game.

Why not just make a folder and house all the system apps you don't want on your Home Menu in there?
