I just caught this on twitter. It looks like TheFlow is working on a future VitaShell update which can mount the Vita's file system to Windows over a direct USB connection. Pretty awesome. Goodbye ftp I guess.

Edit: Confirmed by TheFlow for a February 2017 release.

Be a great start to a new year.

You should try using QCMA it works really well.
You just need to have your account registered and a registered PSP game save.

Make a directory in capitals ( called say BACKUP) in the games save directory and transfer from there.

No need for MP4 etc.

This method is already known and has some sort of AP check where everything that is not the actual save file may be deleted after transfer. Mounting Vita's file system on Windows is superior in every way.

I was reading about this a few days ago. So glad to see so many more enhancements arriving to VitaShell still; especially the news of this USB support that's going to make transferring VPKs and ROMs a shit-ton faster! :D

That check doesn't happen when transferring while on HENkaku.
But yeah, filesystem on USB would be way superior.

This is great news for those of us who just bought a 3.60 or lower VITA.
QCMA only seems to work with registrered and/or activated VITA's (at least : I can't connect to QMCA with my vita) AND you can't activate a Vita that easy anymore since spoofing stopped working (need a ps3).

FTP is slow and windows-explorer connectivity would really help out..... can't wait

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

oh... btw...... TheFlow says "Imagine you press SELECT in VitaShell and get USB connection instead of FTP."
So..... this is not for real :-) well..... ftp it is :-)

This is freaking amazing. One of the things that was holding me back was using FTP (ewww), I really liked connecting my PSP using USB and copy over all kinds of homebrewz.

Looks like it's finally time to source an used first-model Vita...
