Hello everyone! My friend bought a New 3DS XL and he updated to 11.2.0-35 E since he didn't know about CFW's and stuff. I have myself an O3DS XL, with gateway on EmuNAND and I personally never bothered with CFW since gateway does the job for me (Homebrew, etc). What is the best way to hack his 3DS and install a CFW? Will OOTHAX +powersaves do the trick? Or can I somehow use my 3DS to help me? Although to be honest, I don't want to risk my own 3DS bricking. Thank you in advance.

The best way to hack and install CFW is a9lh. Normally, he would need to hardmod his device, but if you have Gateway+EmuNAND+non-a9lh 3ds, that means you can access homebrew and are on 9.2 or lower (SysNAND). If that's correct, you could install a9lh on your device and then downgrade his to 10.7 using your console through the DSiWare downgrade and then proceed with installing a9lh on his 3DS.

Thanks for your answer. The truth is that I dont really want to mess with my 3DS if the process is hard. Is there a guide for the downgrade? Also, would the oothax with powersaves allow his 3ds to install cfw in an easy way? From what he told me he doesnt really mind paying the extra for the game and the powersaves.

The process itself isn't hard, just put all files on your SD (If I recall correctly, Quantumcat has a zip with all files needed), launch some apps and click on buttons. The hard part is if you want to understand what you're doing. In my case, I've been studying a9lh since March before attempting to install it last month (It wasn't because I chose to, I couldn't do it before then). Now, if I get someone's console to install a9lh for them, I only need to use Plailect's to get the files needed for the downgrades and stuff. Anyways, the guide is https://3ds.guide/. oothax with powersaves is one of the things needed to get homebrew, needed for the guide. There are other ways, like only Cubic Ninja or Freakyforms Deluxe.

If in the process you need any help, PM me and I'll answer ASAP.
