Ahh major help needed guys..

I was in the process of installing arm9loaderhax, i had successfully downgraded the FW from 9.90-26 to 2.10 but during this part of the guide...

Section IV - Restoring the System

If you have done 2.1.0 ctrtransfer, restore NANDmin.bin: Open Hourglass9 from arm9loaderhax by holding (Start) on boot Go to “SysNAND Backup/Restore” Restore from NANDmin.bin Press (Start) to reboot If you get a black screen, follow 9.2.0 ctrtransfer

When i try to restore from NANDmin.bin i get the error

"Not a proper NAND backup for this 3DS" "sysNAND Restor (keep a9lh): failed! "Press B to return, START to reboot"

so i press start and then get this error: "Failed to mount CTRNAND press any button to shutdown"

Please help, is it bricked or simple fix?!

Thanks in advance.

The failed to mount CTRNAND happens on the New 3ds (xl) after a9lh/luma install while on 2.1, it's normal. Once you find a way to get back to 9.2 it won't be an issue.

if you used a ctrtransfer for going back to 9.x on a n3ds you may now find that ds and dsi games will no longer work as it probably used a donor ncsd header

Not much to learn, it's there to disable signatures, give you firm protection, allow you to load payloads before the os on boot (Hourglass9 etc). After you set up the options with the guide, you can ignore it. It's letting you run pirate cia games and the like. I do believe Luma can emulate regions also, I haven't messed with it, but it fixes issues in some fan translated games.

Once you have FBI you can go to titledb and browse for homebrew apps such as

-Chmm for custom themes

-Boot ntr for cheats

-Jks save manager for backing up your 3ds saves

-Freeshop if your a pirate...

-TWLSave tool for backing up your normal nds game saves

Reboot your 3ds while holding select.Make shure you have all the right settings checked.

That has bought me in to the Luma3DS config screen,

The settings i have checked are

- Autoboot sysNAND
- Use sysNAND FIRM if booting with R
- Show NANA or user string in system settings
Default emuNAND is on 1
Splash off
pin lock off
def features off

Sorry about this guys, im determined to get it working haha

Yes make shure you have the following checked

-autoboot sysnand

-use sysnand firm if booting with R

-Show NAND or user string in system settings

Once those are checked press start and see if you got your homebrew launcher app back.

Also in titles i have a bunch of "004001B00018002" and things that look similar is that normal?

****EDIT - I tried again and it opened fine (Cant thank you enough man, i would buy you a beer if i could!)

Very nice.Glad I could be of a help to you.

If you want and didn't do this yet in the guide you can try the following

-go to FBI again and into sd

-look for arm9loaderhax.bin

-select it and press copy

-go all the way back with B

-Go to the ctrnand section and select current dictionary's (the first thing in red)

-press paste

-exit FBI and turn off your 3ds

-remove your sd card

-hold select while booting

-check show NAND or user string in system settings

-put your sd card back in and press save

Your 3ds can now boot on without a sd card if you ever lose it.
