As topic.
We don't know whether the seller will extract and sell the LocalFriendSeed_B for unbanning some people's console or not.
If the seller did extract and sell LFCS, then the LFCS would be shared on multiple consoles, which might cause another ban that affected innocent console buyers.

Also do not buy pre-exploited new consoles because their LocalFriendSeed_B can be also easily leaked.

But if we don't buy second had, we are stuck on 11.2 without a second 3ds. Plus, haven't these bans died down already? I know there were a lot, but are people still seriously being banned?

If you're not pirating and play the games you only legimate bought, yes, you should be serious about being ban.

This is why Nintendo is going to have a hard time with the bans. There is going to be someone out there unboxing, haxing and pulling the LFCS from a 2DS then returning it back to the store.

One day (if not now) Nintendo is going to give up on banning. It's too easy to unban using a new LFCS

The whole idea of people returning and reselling banned consoles is really making the 3ds hacking community look bad.. I'd love to see these people be looked at by fda for fraud and trying to explain returning so many 3ds's to gamestops that all had the same problem. Then explaining the ones he didn't return making a almost double of a brand new 3ds selling online.

I sell brand new/hacked consoles anyhow. Never thought of extracting the LCFS for money, that just seems scummy anyhow.
That's what people should do.
After stay in gbatemp for sometimes, I saw someone said they would:
  • Trying to bought 2DS just for DSiware & return it
  • Trying to sell his console if Nintendo won't unban his console without telling a buyer
  • Trying to return brandnew console after swap LocalFriendSeed_B
So I don't think the OP is totally wrong if the people like i mention are exist.

Its too inconvenient because of what you stated. The whole "buy, rip, return". That's actually pathetic.

Is that something in the NAND like the secureinfo files? I've never messed with the NAND files like that except for region changing emuNAND.

It is pathetic and immoral. It doesn't mean it's not going to happen. Heck pirating is the main reason of the ban and it's pathetic and immoral too. It's not going to stop people from buying, ripping lfcs, returning the console and deploying to the masses. Anyways I'm just saying it's a possibility.

Funny that this thread pops up, because I just sold my 2DS to a friend I work with for $100 because it's A9LH'd with FreeShop. XD I didn't backup the LocalFriendSeed_B though, I have enough 2DS systems in my house to grab an extra one if I need one. :)

Why would the Federal Drug Administration give a shit about retail fraud?

i'm fine with this. I rarely go online with my modded machines. I always buy 1 to be modded (backup/emulators) and then 1 for regular use (usually the revision model)

I don't think enough people are doing this that it actually matters, as far as buying a refurbished/used console from a store or an unhacked console from someone, and your main worry for buying a hacked console is that it is already banned.

You could just as easily call Nintendo and say you just bought this brand new system and it is not getting online. The serial number can be edited anyway so there's no way they would be able to prove it either way.
