OK sorry, misread what you meant, got it now. But the above what I said is still true

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Can this even affect someone who already has A9LH, FBI, homebrew access and all that?
No. Not without a CPU revision. And when has a hacked 3dd ever been affected by a future update?

I think that means that they give you permission to hack it once you find a said exploit, but after that, you can't further modify your system
No. It means that once you give them your code you relinquish all ownership of it, and if you modify it to bypass whatever fix they release for the code they'll sue the shit out of you for violating a legally binding contract.

Thats what I said

Plus, being that its a one shot deal, maybe they can release a lesser exploit, get paid, then make a major?
Cause I mean, technically all of us here can be sued for software piracy, and Nintendo isn't very good at actually enforcing its laws/agreements anyway. As long as your not a major company, I doubt they'd send lawyers after you

They're free to do so, but they won't get paid. Nintendo is only paying for 0days (aka, private exploits). No company ever offers bounties for public knowledge.

yeah i know. there is probly 20 other exploits people have. that would be easy cash. good way to raise money for more hacking hardware lol use nintendo's own exploit money to hack the switch

Well, much like the NTR dev - as a community, don't act like spoilt bastards, and you won't give them a reason to turn to Nintendo as revenge for bad behaviour or the childish threats many have received from ignorant, retarded children who demand exploits because they're so god damn special.

[You know who you are. The ones who pester devs with PMs for status updates, or demand exploits to use]
as a dev i know how annoying it is to be getting ETA's so i dont ask, just sit and wait like patient spy

Well I am pro Pirating at least for testing games that do not have a proper demo (as there are to many bad games selling for way to much money)
BUT than again it is a good thing that those people who helped us (or not) can get some money for their hard work, as long as those who really found the exploits give them to nintendo and not some "friends" who got a hold of the knowledge ...

Does anyone know what the salty hax team is thinking when seeing this?

Edit: Most likely the salty hax team has more private hacks for the 3ds than anyone else.

I can't even take that bounty request seriously. The hacking scene already has a huge start, whats left to actually stop us? preventing Arm9 FW updates?
Their best option is to make a new handheld or another 3DS to prevent homebrew access in any form

The PSP is still getting officially licensed games. I can't speak for the Vita.
The vita actually got a little bit of love at the PSX 2016. Sure not enough it should have, but it was a delight to see they haven't COMPLETELY forgotten about the vita.

The main problem is that Nintendo has to wait till after an exploit is released and millions use it before they can patch it, if they hire people to do it for them before it goes public, they can patch it before anyone knows it even exists.
That isn't what reverse-engineering means. :/
