I was talking about the license to use and all that stuff.
Your only "licensed" to use Nintendo SOFTWARE. Breaking the EULA is supposed to revoke that license. I say supposed cause we all know they don't enforce it:D. But I mean the physical hardware. The 3ds itself. That's yours.

Edit:
And online services. That licenced to you too

lol at Nintendo, good luck preventing 3DS hardmod downgrades. Nintendo should have done what Microsoft did with the 360, which was eFuses that prevented downgrading. so far, there is 0 ways of doing a downgrade now that they blow the eFuses.

EDIT:
What Nintendo needs to do: make a new revision board with eFuses, no exposed pads for NAND, and to make sure a FIRM is not able to be injected into a newer firmware. the FIRM one can be solved by making the system menu require the latest FIRM to even work, this would brick anyone trying to use older FIRMS.

But for modding a 360, there's no need to downgrade unless you want to jTag (which isn't very good in itself since it needed a specific dashboard to work - which is well below the Slim min dashboard level).

Now that we've got pretty fast and successful RGH boards to fit to the 360, downgrading isn't as needed as it once was (and neither is the risk of the eFuse tripping as supposedly you can undo it tripping).

In terms of the 3DS - it'd still allow hardware downgrades (much like the PS3 and E3 flashers).

The PSP is still getting officially licensed games. I can't speak for the Vita.

I wonder why so late in the 3ds's life?
Honestly how much time do we have left like 6 more months and then that's it

It's probably due to the speed at which 3DS modding/CFW has improved.

We first had Homebrew exploits, which lead onto CFW which exploded with A9LH and the modding train kept picking up speed.

Wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo don't want to have a "PSP" on their hands, and want the 3DS to die out without being referred to as a "piracy ridden device" which the PSP/Vita is.

Is that saying the vita got killed off because of piracy, or because vita had tons of security?

Try two years. The 3DS's EoL is in 2018.

Because of piracy on the PSP before. Face it the reason why they don't want nothing to do with the vita is because of the why you can hack the psp and rampant piracy on there latest fw too iirc.

i hope our top reverse engineers dont turn against us:unsure:

Well, much like the NTR dev - as a community, don't act like spoilt bastards, and you won't give them a reason to turn to Nintendo as revenge for bad behaviour or the childish threats many have received from ignorant, retarded children who demand exploits because they're so god damn special.

[You know who you are. The ones who pester devs with PMs for status updates, or demand exploits to use]

Sorry, I can't face it because I don't have a Vita or PSP and have never been in the homebrew section so I wouldn't know anything about it....

This statement makes absolutely no sense to me.
They killed off the PSP because it was -too- insecure after the keys got leaked?
Then spent MILLIONS making the vita the safebox it is, only to kill it because it didn't sell like pancakes like the PSP did?

Are you saying something like, too insecure is bad, but too secure is also bad as well(?)

What's your point? It's a decade old system. Doesn't mean it's not getting licensed releases still. Also, that was released in July, so that's not that long ago.
I'm just curious, I thought the EUR PSN closing on september marked the true end for it, and I don't know of any games that got released overseas after the EUR PSN closed for PSP.
I know that after 2013 psp got a few japanese titles every year.
