Gaming Safe to play Mario Maker and update it in the US?

Just wondering if its safe to go online yet for SMM. Just downloaded it from the Freeshop and there is an update available. Not sure if I should go through with this or wait. Thanks for the help.

I just opened the eshop and it auto-updated.

Well my 3ds was on 9.2 still, so I did a system update. Then after the sys update, when I was on the home screen and launched SMM it says there is a game update available -- update -- get error in game telling me to system update

I haven't really played online ever, but I need online to download the maps. I am running a9lh and sys updated to 11.X, and then updated the SMM game. Am I fucked? my games seem to still work fine other than I can't get the maps on SMM

In game it tells me I'm running ver 1.02

Also error code: 002-0119 (tells me to system update)
