Hacking why do people still stick with ntr even though its no longer supported

i know it would take effort to make a new one but ntr will be the same old thing with bugs in it and no improvements the streaming on the new 3ds could of be even improved further but cell 9 decided to delete the source code and don't ask me to make it im not a developer

You answered your own question. Streaming. There is no other CFW that does it right now.

May be because

1. most people who have N3DS happy with the current state of NTR
2. most people can't developing
3. most developers don't interst in doing a replace, since #1

Most developers will absolutly definitely interest in developing a replacement if you pay them.

AFAIK @Nanquitas is/was trying to reverse engineer ntr, but of what I heard he lost the hard drive with the progess on it, so sad about that.....

NTR is still working fine, only a few games are not supported on Old3DS.
It's not a big deal.

When it'll become totally not working, why not but for now there's no urgence.

Also, I don't really get the point of those threads.
Are you really hoping that someone will tell you: "Don't worry I'm on it, expect it tomorrow ! " ?

Maybe someone is already working on that, but it's a lot of work, and saying that you're working on something that big is the best way to be harassed for a release date.
A smart person won't tell you that he's working on it until he have something ready...

So again: stop those useless thread.
If you're so desperate for a replacement you can either do one yourself, or buy a gateway.

In my opinion, yes it is worth it. No other CFW have the possibility to cheat on the fly. NTR plugin is great for pre-made cheats which uses not obvious game value, while Gateway is great for modifying obvious value on the fly, like items in RPG. I use Gateway for at least two years now, and I still do not have any brick.

hacksn5s4 has been bummed out ever since he couldn't get NTR to work with Pokemon Sun and Moon,
because he is not on a N3DS unit.

Ever since then, he's been making such posts and now, threads, all over the best,
essentially trying to get people to do the work for him,
using lingo that states "oh NTR is outdated" so on and so forth.

NTR still works.

Gateway cheats works with Sun and Moon, but I guess you don't want to get a Gateway.

Go do something else to calm your nerves, maybe play Mario Maker.

Maybe use SciresM code.bin patcher to get shinies.

The cheat codes are awesome, but they can get old quick, just live playing the game normally, or PKHex, up to you.

I'm curious too, how?
If that dev create an alternative without reverse engineering NTR or forking another open source.
I think it won't be a problem if someone paying to that dev for this. But, it's not gonna be cheap.
And if it's work the same way as NTR, I don't think Nintendo gonna do somethings about it.

We're talking about cheating replacement, not CFW replacement.
Commercial Cheating should be the same as PowerSave if it's can only use for cheat. That's all.

NTR doesn't only apply cheat patches though but if that's all you meant that's a little different.

Because hardly anybody is interested in looking into spawning additional processes or hooking deeper into the kernel, and most would rather replace and extend extend existing processes like Loader. Granted, it's still better than hamfisting patching into ARM9, and in some respects it's better than having an additional process (ie for drop-in code patching), but for literally any kind of network stuff or RPC a separate process is much nicer to have. Added bonus of having an additional process is that it works regardless of o3DS/N3DS as long as your process binary is small enough.
