Hello,

I've been able to install backups using the Brazilian Method and they have been working great.

Yesterday, I decided to try Haxchi (because I got tired to try to run things using a browser and failing 80% of the time) and it seems to be running great.

But now I'm kinda confused on how to proceed.

I'd like to try to run something like Fatal Frame or Zelda Skyward Sword. (Yup, I have my old Wii laying around, but it has been a while since I plugged it in).

What should I do? Try to setup RedNAND? Is Simple Signature Patcher enough?
Can I install games directly to sysnand if I run "Simple Signature Patcher" before trying to install, or will it brick my console?
(I'm also confused about HBLauncher using Haxchi and its own channel I've read somewhere, but I don't the difference)

I've searched for a few days now (not the whole day, obviously), but this information was hard to find.

Can you, please, give me some directions on how to proceed?

Thank you very much in advance!

I have no intention to use Rednand. I have haxchi auto boot the latest fw.Img with sig and region patches and if holding A button boots the homebrew launcher. I've got a EUR console and have installed about 40 USA vc games (only because I hear they run better than EUR ones) no problems here. I can see the tik for skyward sword has been released so was going to install that when I get back in town but have been advised that wii VC games work perfectly fine.

As for your question though. I run haxchi to boot fw.Img. then run it again holding a to boot homebrew launcher. that way wupinstaller doesn't have a whinge and installs out of region or pirated content with out a problem

Haxchi can be used for every homebrew you want or to boot into CFW/redNAND. With a CFW (sig patched fw.img) you can install the HBL as a channel but there's no benefit to it beside the fancy icon because you would have to launch haxchi once after every console boot nevertheless in order to launch "hack stuff" like the HBL channel.

Sigpatch is enough if all you want is to play games, as long as you're not installing system titles you'll be fine.

I second to Crazystato and I practically do the same for my setup. Rednand is not really needed and holding down shortcuts is nothing, as it only takes a few seconds.

I was against redNand for a bit but then I found a use for it. Custom VC titles.
I found some and they had fake title IDs so they didn't interfere with legit ones. Afaik, you cant do that on the current sysnand FWs
Actually you can.

Good point, it isn't noob-approved
You can brick if:
Title is on USB
Title is corrupted (?, with a bad haxchi?)
Fail during upload(1KB meh..)
Fail during editing system.xml
Yeah, i have an idea about fixing that brick but i dont know enough about how the wii u boots to make it work...

I've installed Haxchi, the homebrew launcher app, and installed things using the brazilian method, all on SysNAND. Haven't had any problems. I just want coldboothax on SysNAND.
