Hacking How to tell if you are on REDNAND or ISOUHAX sysnand?

Here is the issue I'm having.
I created a REDNAND on my 64GB card from (dimokiosu). And the fw.img
I then created a folder in sysnand and named it SYSNAND
I then booted into REDNAND and created a folder named REDNAND.
This allowed me to visually validate the Nand I was using.
I then created a ISOUHAX (fix94iosuhax) version fw.img.
Using Haxchi I created button access to both fw.imgs.
The switch to the orignal REDNAD (dimokiosu) work as expected and the folder shows REDNAND.
However the switch to ISOUHAX (fix94iosuhax) I would have expected to show SYSNAND but instead shows REDNAND.
I thought the current version of ISOUHAX applied patches to SYSNAND not REDNAND.
Am I terribly confused?

"make" builds a RedNAND fw.img
"make cfw" builds a SysNAND fw.img

Are the two fw.img files different on your SD?

I think you have answered my issue. I built both with just 'make'. The first (size 14341) which created the rednand when launched jumps to rednand.
The second (size 15229) displays ISOUHAX and apparently jumps to rednand also but with (I assume) patches.
So it seems I need to rebuild that one with 'make cfw' and use that fw.img for patching sysnand.

Just do what everyone did on the 3ds, make a Folder on your home menu that says SYSNAND on sysnand and REDNAND on RedNand simples

The reason was because I did not compile it with "make cfw"
So what I had compiled was the rednand Isouhax not sysnand Isouhax.

Oh nvm I was just going of the title your actual post has nothing to do with that since you validated yourself you where always in RedNand, if it shows that folder you are beyond a doubt booted into that nand no matter what. The title should be :''why am I always booting into RedNand even with sig patch SYSNAND fw.img? ''
