Homebrew Is this way possible for downgrade(maybe just a stupidity)?

I just thought a way which might be not possible. Maybe change your DNS or fake the server by connecting the 3ds in your pc via the wifi and create a fake https nintendo site so it redirects the 3ds update to that site and then returns the downgrade files with the MD5 and SHA-1 checksum changed or the CIA modified so the system thinks that it is a later update and installs it(BTW I created this jff so don't take it seriously if it doesn't exist and I was kinda crazy about the fact that my 3ds couldn't be downgraded)?

you're only the 999th to make this topic.
its not possible. encryption, https, version check, etc etc.
So, are we waiting to see something different in the 1000th person?

Anyway, what encrytion does the 3ds has and I dunno it?

Also, I think you can fake an HTTPS certificate(or am I wrong).

And we can change the checksum of the downgrade file.

no, it won't be possible ever. its been asked for hundreds of times and if it was even halfway as easy, it would've been done ages ago.

Its not that simple, not even like it sounds.
Take in count, that the 3DS checks for every file when downloading, when installing, among other check verification's.

ATM downgrading using DSI exploit its your best bet.

I don't even have a credit card, buy an eShop game???

And I understand a team of hackers can only fake the certificate for a website and change the checksums of over 100 cias(downgraded my other 3ds in the past), but OK lets take it easy, it is just a stupid idea...

I can't find on a store in my country. So, I ask a friend of mine to do it, or I am doomed...

well, greece might indeed not have these cards for sale anymore. but you should normally be able to get them in any store that also sells nintendo 3ds consoles.

note that dsidowngrade is only possible if you already have a hacked console and if the unhacked one is not on the latest update.
the method that would work with only one unhacked 3ds (that is not updated to the latest firmware version) is still not ready (and might not be for months)

having said that, while i know things aren't great in greece, its not like you can't have fun with a 3ds and only 2 or so games.
i've spend the first two years with my 3ds playing only kingdom hearts, mario kart and pokemon.

Have you ever considered that if this were possible, someone would have done it already? I'm sorry, but the people behind these hacks are extremely intelligent people. They would have exhausted all of the obvious routes long before they were even considered obvious.

True, I didn't even know that v^6 had buffer overflow and all this stuff.

I will try changing checksums of the files, make a Raspberry pi server, get the source of nintendo site and all stuff.

I've hacked another 2DS myself using Plaicets guide or whatever and downloaded smilebasic, pokemon x(sacrificing predownloaded alpha sapphire, kind of payback), and will download SSBros.

I am still doomed because my unhacked 3ds is on 11.2:cry:. Anyway, I'll find money to buy another 2ds...

And I understand why there is still so much delay in that hack. Assuming that the same happened with cubic ninja... Anyway...

Good luck. You'll need it.

Seriously, fake an HTTPS certificate? If it was that easy, do you think we'd have a system where, other than LetsEncrypt, people pay hundreds of dollars for a certificate?

And what the hell do you mean grab the source of the Nintendo site? What are you even talking about? The HTML source? That's the only source you can access, and trust me, they ain't looking for any HTML source to verify their updates...jesus christ..

Also, change a checksum? When you can change the mathematical sum of 5+5 to 8, please hit me up.

Yes, not many people do it, fake an SSL certificate, NO I have a NAND backup and I'll use a disassembler to see what da hell nintendo does a and just play with it because my guitar's string broke so I can't shred any metallica and no I can't because I am not a mathematics engineer but rather somebody who tries to learn computers to the bone but it should be easy in my dreams...

And thanks...

Sounds good.

I hope you realize that even a mathematics engineer can't change the sum of 5+5....Just like you can't modify the SUM of something. You can change what is calculated, and therefore you won't get the same sum.

Keep me updated on how you're gonna figure out how Ninty verifies their update through your NAND backup. That sounds reasonable :) Just find the hex value for the if condition that checks if it goes through and off you go, CFW On latest FW!!!

Lets clear this up. 1st, it is almost impossible to fake a https connexion. The 3ds checks for the nintendo server, and only will connect to the nintendo server, faking the https cert using bruteforce can take more time than the time the universe has existed, you better hack nintendo servers. 2nd: The 3ds checks if the downloaded content is valid, and will refuse to install unsigned code (again, faking the "checksum" can take A LOT of time, iirc the checksum can have 2^2048 possibilities).
3rd: Better wait for a new arm9 exploit which will may take a bit less time than the universe time.
4rd: You can't get the "source" of nintendo servers without hacking it.

It's nice to see people trying to contribute to the hacking scene :), but remember that if such an easy thing existed it would had already be done. (Google is your best friend, and to get more info on how the 3ds works, you may like to watch the 3ds 32c3 talk)

Now that you have an answer, could a mod block this before more hate is created?

BTW, I was kinda crazy so excuse me if I said anything retarded. BTW I sometimes do both, like while my 2ds was being hacked I was playing metallica battery so. Also I understand that it is not even a bit possible to change the sum of 5+5 without doing anything to the values, the way you can't write the EXACT sqrt of 2 in demical.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Better just go and make an amp for guitar in the 3ds(this is possible wtout any fx but very low quality).

dsiware downgrade works with 11.2 ppl!!! idk where you got the idea that it doesnt:/

I don't have a second 3ds with an exploitable dsiware game or working(mine doesn't have both) so my only chance is that I'll do a hardmod or have my robotics teacher do it for me.

@BORTZ @Cyan @raulpica Can anyone please close this thread? ;D

I'll try to close it myself if possible or it is like 5+5=8?
