I have had trouble using this guide :
https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-transfer-emunand-to-another-sd-card-working-on-new3ds.383684/
So i was wondering if I could just do a emunand back up and then use emunand9/decrypt9 to put it on the new sd card.

Yes, you can do the following with A9LH and Luma pretty easy:

1) Use hourglass9/decrypt9 to backup your emunand.
2) Then setup an emunand on target sd card using emunand9, will need to copy luma and payloads to target sd card and boot into emunand9
3) Copy all contents from source sd to target sd
4) Boot into hourglass9/decrypt9 and restore emunand

Hmmm, what about this then:
1) Use hourglass9/decrypt9 to backup your emunand. (Alternitavely you can use MultiNAND tool)
2) Use MultiNAND tool on PC to format target SD and inject backup of EmuNAND
3) Copy contents from source SD to target SD

Profit
