Gaming Help a noob: Pokemon XYORAS Updating

Hey everyone,

I'm sure this has been asked so I apologize in advance. I have a modded N3DSXL, running Luma 3DS and has A9LH. Is it safe for me to update Pokemon XYORAS? Can I update it, since I don't have access the eShop?

If you don't have access to the eShop, just install the update CIAs for the games or see if freeShop has the updates for the games. Why can you not access the eShop?

An update for a game? Updating a game is fine and should do no harm to your 3DS. FreeShop is the preferred method for CFW users like you and me.
Also, just like @KunoichiZ asked earlier, why can't you access the eShop?

I can, sorry. I didn't mean to say that part. Just kind of typed it out. For added info this is a physical, retail cartridge, not an installed CIA.

FreeShop and eShop will both detect the cartridge and prompt you to update the game when needed.
Are you asking if it's safe to update or how to update or both?

Is it safe to update the game?:
Yes

How do I update the game?:
1) Get a CIA of the update specific to your game from "that site"
2) Get the update from the eShop
3) Get the update from freeShop
