Hi everyone. Can somebody tell me how to Fix this error? I updated my New3DS via pokemon cart to 11.0 because it wouldn't update from the settings menu. I want to go online to trade pokemanz but it simply will not update.

Things I've tried:
- Using two different access points (100mbps fiber and 4G hotspot)
- Changing my DNSes to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as suggested by external website.
- Removing custom theme and uninstalling CHMM2.
EDIT 29/11/16
- Reinstalling a fresh Home menu (title ID: 0004003000009802 EUR) did not solve the problem.
- Removing "firmware.bin" from /luma/ folder on the SD.

I've never ever modifed the home menu in anyway (font/language file etc.)

I've never modified or patched TWL_FIRM or AGB_FIRM.

I'm not blocking Nintendo updates via URL filtering in my router.

My setup is AUS region New3DS XL running latest stable Luma via A9LH, updated sysNand mode on 11.0.

It's never been DSI downgraded or hacked system transferred, it's base firmware was 9.0 since I opened the box.

It has never been region swapped.

There is no error code associated with the error screen. The progress bar jumps instantly to what appears to be about 20-25% and hangs there for a few seconds and then fails.

I refuse to format my sysNAND and start from scratch again for the 7 millionth time, there must be a solution.

Thanks for reading.

Got the same problem with my o3ds. Just do a Internet test first and then do the update. It often works. Else update to a nightly Luma

The internet test succeeds everytime, but it still won't update.

Did you patch any system files or custom homemenus or something?

It isn't too risky to update with SysUpdater. Lots of people over 9.2 downgrade with it and you got A9LH so you can restore a NAND backup.

Yeah I have hourglass9 payload setup with A9LH and a NAND access mod if anything goes wrong.

But right now I am in the middle of the Australian outback thousands of kilometres away from my PC.

I just don't understand why hundreds and hundreds of hacked 3DS owners can update to 11.2 but mine can't. It doesn't make any sense to me.

It's very frustrating, I just wanna trade pokemanz! It's literally the only "online gaming" I ever do.

There are some people who restored a clean home menu which worked although they haven't modified their home menu.

did you have a firmware.bin of any sort inside the luma folder, that might mess with regular update from system settings

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

also what settings do you have checked in luma settings screen

In the /Luma/ folder I have a"firmware.bin" file as per the installation instructions of Luma3DS.

In the /Luma/payloads/ folder I have just the Gateway payload and hourglass9.

In Luma settings screen, I've already unchecked all the options except for "autoboot sysNAND"

Try removing the firmware.bin temporarily then update.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I just tried it and still getting the error :(

I can't acquire the EUR CIA for home menu without a PC :(

Try just leaving it in sleep mode for a few hours while connected to the net. It'll probably download the update.

I left it in sleep mode for hours whilst connected to WiFi for hours yesterday, and nothing :(

EDIT

Can somebody advise me of the Title ID for EUR home menu and I'll try to acquire the CIA from that chaotic and that iso site.

EDIT 2

0004003000009802
Found it.

EDIT 3

Installing fresh Home menu CIA does not fix the issue.

If you access now. Install 11.2 firmware with NUS.
