Gaming So..uh... what the hell is the point of the Pokemon Fantasy palace?

I've been outa the Pokemon loop for 18 years, so I'm a bit overhwelmed coming from Pokemon Blue to Sun after all this time. But what in the hell is the Fantasy thing all about? Am I seeing real people who randomly try to join my Disney Land clone on my 3DS or something? I can't actually talk to them, its like a social tease experiment ?

you mean festival plaza?
its a way to earn some items and dye clothes and such. also its the place where you go to enter the global trade / wondertrade and find random people to battle i guess. its basically the pss system from the last two games but within a plaza.

the people you see there are people you've streetpassed, random strangers from the gts/wondertrade and probably more randoms following that. its not really an integral part of the game, but a nice enough distraction once in a while and another thing to level up if you want to.

Wondertrade is just trading a pokemon with a different random person. You can trade online and I think local.

I thought global trade wasn't working until January?

You can global trade on release. (So you can now). The only thing I know of that can't be used till January is Pokebank.

could you hack your pokedex or some thing like that so it thinks you have caught 1000s of pokemon it could just check how many pokemon you have in your boxes if so you could just mass clone a pokemon

Not with the current pkhex release(afaik.)
I've added pokemon since I started, they didn't raise the number.
If pkhex gets some true hex capabilities(for sun/moon) before the event ends we could probably find the variable and edit it. The fear would be any single pkhexer putting a too high number and getting banned.
We will probably get the ability to edit FC before/at the same time as limited trainer based hex editing.

I figured that when I was reading about all the balls.
I was looking at what balls could provide continued benefits.
I have all my used pokemon in Luxury Balls.

You can also put up facilities in the plaza where you can buy stuff. Do note that none of the facilities sell a Lucky Egg. If you lose your Lucky Egg like I did you're very screwed. I'm forever no egg.

Yep. I had the Lucky Egg and forgot to remove it before doing a trade. Pokemon don't drop the egg in this game.

Well, when I get a few things figured out, you can have mine. I've actually got to erase my O3ds Moon for Sun cart, so I'll be getting rid of as many valuable things as needed before it's deleted.
