Would you like to see documentation on how to make patches like this in the future?

Get the Pokemon red CIA, decrypt it using Decrypt 9, decompile it using Asia81's packhack, and go into the romfs directory. There will be a bunch of .patch files. The one for Pokemon red will be named just like the Pokemon red rom is named in the romfs/rom directory.
thank you so much for the help, now i got a full color red version with trading enabled, only one more question, are there also patches for non-pokemon related games?

No, only Pokemon games. The reason is that this release is heavily based on patches made by Nintendo, if I'm not mistaken.

changing the color option for gold using the HxD is nearly impossible for me to understand. I can not find the address 0x96EB7 when i use the search option. it just tells me it can't find that. i'd hate to play this game in black and white.

Downside is that the Colour Patch isnt fully functional you get palette glitches constantly

Should work. The color patch modifies the emulator to allow all palette lines.

If it doesn't work, let me know...
Hey, you're still alive! :) Pokémon Prism is coming out in December, I'll try to patch it for this game, too. Plus Pokémon Bronze is getting an update in december, too. So it will be compatible with Prism.

will have to test that then with the other patches implemented such as B sprint and Gen2 Sprites

if works then GG
i played it for half an hour a it works properly with no graphical glitches, i'm using a rom with a full color hack that also changes the sprites to gen II that i found in romhacking.net

We could be very thankful for that Gamefreak didn't put Gold, Silver and Crystal in the eShop. So our work wasn't for nothing.

All you have to do is modify the code.bin file in the ExeFS folder as specified in the OP. I did it for Pokemon Blue and it worked fine.
