Hardware Can anyone confirm if they got IPS on any 3DS systems from black Friday?

Want to know if any at all are IPS or they are all just TN.

I suspect all the black friday systems will have TN screens. Only some early New 3DS systems had IPS screens even though they were'nt meant to.

I got dual TN, but I don't know of any IPS I've ever gotten so /shrug

I thought ips were only found in the New xl and the normal new 3ds never had ips

got dual TN on both black systems but one definitely shows color a bit better than the other.
both were on 5 brightness, no auto brightness or power saving.

If you have a way to use homebrew yet can you check it with 3dsident?

I'd be happy with just a top screen to be IPS. So it's possible for these 3ds systems just released to have them?

The one on the left is likely to be top IPS.

it is not IPS at all actually. Here it is next to my Dual IPS white n3ds (pokemon 20th edition, not the black friday one in case anybody asks)

i only bought two. One for me and one for a friend. The one with the "nicer" of the TN screens though has serial YW7026 in case that can help you at all

ips has better viewing angles and generally more accurate colors

ips looks better when looked at from an angle, colors are a bit more vibrant.

I think a "bit" is a little more of an understatement

Is it possible to just have custom made IPS screens made for 3DS and install it ourselves? Seems like an easier solution than opening up multiple systems and taking guesses which is the right one.

You can swap with IPS consoles.
