First of all update your hbc and bootmi downloading the latest hackmii installer, this will change the title id of the hbc to the more recent one preventing the overwrite.
After tou have done this, you can update every single ios to the most recent version without touching the cIOS slot with dopmii. To update the system menu too you have to download FIRST the ios 80 v6944 and THEN the system menu 4.3.
Do it in the correct order or YOU WILL BRICK, because every system menu version has a pairing system IOS (60 for 4.0/41, 70 for 4.2 and 80 for 4.3) that the system menu itself needs to work, and the console is rebooted and the system menu cannot find his pairing ios the console brick.

If u want later i can post a syscheck report of my fully updated 4.3 wii with the IOS revision to co compare, is a PAL console but the region doesn't matter when we tal 0k about IOS

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

P.S. remember that if u have Priiloader installed the system menu update will delete/overwrite it.
After the update you need to reinstall it using his more rcent version, 0.8.1

EDIT added a syscheck report

Allright thanks for your reply mate.
Well Some things i had forgot about my Wii and i don't have a clue about them, and i rediscovered atm.
When I'm on Hbc and try to launch bootmii wii goes black screen and dvd drive blinks.
Also I got an error #004 that the system files are corrupted when i choose SD card from system menu.
I also can't remember if i have priiloader installed but i think i have since updates are disabled( i get error #32007).
I Can't get what u saying pretty much, but think is i dunno how it will interact with my wii's situation.
So what i had thought was update to 4.3 which removes homebrew and them re-Homebrew with letterbomb but can't since can't update xD
I Can't get what u saying pretty much, but think is i dunno how it will interact with my wii's situation.
That's pretty much all i know/can remember about my wii :(
Sucks that i have no play around with it for so many years :(

I will try to explain to you more detailed.
You cannot launch bootmii because bootmii ios is stored in ios slot 254, and Nintendo overwrited this slot with a stub IOS.
Then if u want bootmii back and also update the hbc you need to download the most recent hackmii installer from bootmii.org, launch trough hbc and update.
I think that we can start with this, and once tou do that we can go away and do the other things related to the wii update, is ok for you? :)

You have to put it into a folder named in the way you prefere placed into sd/apps. Because of the missing icon.png and meta.xml you should find it as the last homebrew listed in the homebrew channel.

Okay done updated hbc to 1.1.2 using ios 58.
Didn't do anything with the bootmii cause it had 3 options to install it as ios as boot2 and the prepare sd option.
What should be next? :)

Boot2? You'renso lucky. You own one of the few first bunch of wii's that are brick safe.
Boot2 capable wii means that bootmii cqn be installed before the loading of system menu, then, even if you brick and the system menu is corrupted you can boot hbc and restore a nand backup. I have this kind of wii to and they are the best.

Then, relaunch the hbc updater, and choose to install bootmi as boot2 and ios too (the don't have any conflict between them).

Oh really, i thought my wii wasn't one of the very first ones since the wiimote lock was different than the very fist models.
Done that too, installed bootmii/boot2

Maybe the original wiimote was replaced.

Ok. The better thing instead to update every single IOS is to update trough the official updater that you have blocked. Can you shutdown your wii and then press the the power button in front of the console while holding reset button?
If you have priiloader installed that is preventing online updates you will be easily able to unlock them under the hacks menu.
If this is not possible we will make a custom update.

Probably you used startpatch or a 4.2 updater mod made by waninkoko that blocks online updates.
Can you download syscheck hd edition, extract to hbc, launch it, made a scan of the wii, chhose to save the report and then copy and paste this report here?
The report will be a .csv filenplaced in thenroot of your sd card.

According to that report you have 4.3 and have to have always had it. :P

IOS70 is a stub and that's the 4.2 SM. IOS80 is 4.3's. Also I don't think boot2v4 can install BootMii there. You have it as an IOS in slot 254.

Really don't have a clue, when i started the topic i was seeing 4.2E in my menu and couldn't update as i said in #1 post.
I also can't understand much about ios70 the only thing i would like to ask is that if boot2v4 can't install bootmii then why installer gave me success message?
Just asking tho.
Also that things means that i'm up to date? :P
And if yeah what about the error #004 i'm taking anytime i try to access sd?

It has nothing to do with the hbc update, pribably you already were in 4.3 but uou did'nt noticed or you forgot about this.
The report is perfect, everything is updated. Maybe the broblem isn't with the wii system but with the card. Try to do that: if you have channels or saves moved from the wii internalmto the sd make a backup of the privatebfolder on the root of the sd card, if not, skip this step.
Then delete the private folder (this is the folder where the data that is showed on the sd menu and in the sd section of the wii menu management is stored) and then try to load the sd menu again.
If ot doesn't work, backup the content of your sd card, format it, and replace in the card everything except the private folder, then try to boot again the sd menu. Let me know.

Greywolf i know that boot2v4 prevents to install bootmii on boot2, but before posting his syschek he told that he has the option to install on boot 2, and in the other post he reported that the installatipn was successfully, i don't know what to think

Is there a possibility that the menu had bugged, i mean i was curius how i managed to play donkey kong, nsmb without updating or changing the ios back then, maybe i was updated and just bugged? :P
I'm sure that i was on 4.2 when i was started the thread, also i'm sure about the success on boot2 install.
Don't have any idea why, and sure i'm not stoned or something :D
Whatever i have all my saves(from both backups and original discs) stored to wii so no saves or something, delete the private folder and sd is accessible.
I guess i don't have to put it back right?

Is there a possibility that the menu had bugged, i mean i was curius how i managed to play donkey kong, nsmb without updating or changing the ios back then, maybe i was updated and just bugged? :P
I'm sure that i was on 4.2 when i was started the thread, also i'm sure about the success on boot2 install.
Don't have any idea why, and sure i'm not stoned or something :D
Whatever i have all my saves(from both backups and original discs) stored to wii so no saves or something, delete the private folder and sd is accessible.
I guess i don't have to put it back right?

I have finally remembered and understand why you get the fucking error 004. Inside the private folder you still have the bannerbomb that you used to hack the system menu when you were on 4.2, this error 004 was a prevention by nintendo that fixes the bannerbomb (that's why in 4.3 we use letterbomb).
Clean the private folder and the sd menu will work flawlessly.

I don't think that is a problem if we continue to talk here for a while.
The usb loader that i prefere is usb loader gx because of the great selection of functionalities, the wii like gui that is very user friendly and the support that it still has: Cyan is still working on it and new releases still comes out, and he helps other people with all the issues on the related sticked topic in the backup loader section of the forum.
Also it is perfectly compatible with Nintendont for the gamecube usb loading too.

But before that you need to insyall the cIOSes, let me know here if you need help.
