Hacking I have a few questions regarding the DSiWare system transfer downgrade method...

I'm thinking of helping my brother with installing armloader9hax on his 3DS by using my copy of Four Swords: Anniversary Edition, but I want to make sure to avoid losing any data from either device, as I'm sure he would want to keep his NNID.

1) If I create an emuNand on my system and unlink it from my sysNand, will I be able to do a system transfer from his 3DS to the emuNand prior to transferring my data to his system?
2) Certain games, such as Pokémon Picross, have special currency that supposedly won't get copied via system transfer, or am I mistaken about that? I know my brother bought the maximum available number of picrites for Pokémon Picross, and consequently gets free daily picrites - for these types of games, would using a homebrew save manager be sufficient to avoid losing that?
3) Is there a reliable method of backing up DSiWare saves? I'd like to keep my actual Four Swords save if possible.
4) Assuming nothing above will cause any issues, I'm figuring we can just trade systems for a week or so and then system transfer everything back - would he have any issue playing his copy of Pokémon Sun or Moon on my system's emuNand until then?

I can only answer question 4 as I did it this week, and my friend and I are still yet to transfer back (its been 6 days) and I've been playing Pokemon Moon the whole time Ill be making a backup using hourglass9 and also save backups using JKSM just incase.

I thought of another question: is there any way to create an emuNand without it formatting my SD card (and consequently erasing all of my files on it)? Obviously I can just copy everything back afterwards, but I'd rather not have to if I can avoid it.

No creating an emuNAND requires a format to create the partition. There is no way around it.
