Newest version of skype not working, old ones work

I use skype a lot (mostly for friends who don't want to get discord or for share screen feature), but now whenever I get in a call, I cant hear anyone and they cant hear me. Discord works fine, but Skype only works on versions below 6.9 now. I can't receive images on this version and group calls are broken. I tried reinstalling, clearing the registry, and deleting all the appdata files.

Side note: No version detects my webcam anymore, but not a big deal.

Any Ideas?

I think the newest version is just garbage. Whenever someone video chats with me, there's always a "there's a connection problem with your internet" despite having a 50 mbps connection >.> Stupid Microsoft.

I'd just like to use a version that support image and file sharing with newer users, and fixes the broken group call & chats. (Discord has a file limit)

I had to update Skype because I was a victim from stupid hackers, my account was hacked and luckily recovered it, had to set up two-step verification to prevent further damage. But yeah, I get errors about my connection "not being fast enough" when I video/voice chat with people.

Skype for desktop is complete garbage now. Forced to use Web Skype because Desktop completely freezes as soon as it opens. Always been very prone to freezing at nothing.

Okay, windows compatibility troubleshooter didn't help anything (I now remember using it ages ago for my win xp games), so any other ideas?

I may just have to finally get on to moving to linux or try upgrading to windows 10. (Haven't yet cause of linux compatibility and the ui in win 10 annoys me.)

what os are you on? Anyway maybe it is a firewall issue? I am not really sure.

Mobile keeps lagging and shutting down for me. Skype is garbage overall but Web is the most stable version afaik.

I've yet to update to Windows 10, don't want to lose software compatibility with certain apps. I don't know how to fix that connectivity "issue" with Skype.

That is kinda how I was with Vista

I know 10 is a lot better than Vista and better than 8/8.1, maybe I'll install it on another HDD/partition and keep 7. Then I'll try Skype on there.

It's 21, but idk what that has to do with skype, I thought it used dx for audio
