Core Temp now causes a memory leak on my Win10 PC

Starting yesterday, I noticed that my computer would slow to a crawl after the login screen. By pure luck, I found that Core Temp, a program used to give CPU information, was causing it, allocating GB of RAM to the point where it started using my HDD as RAM space. Got it uninstalled, and everything is fine. The thing though is that when I redid my computer from scratch months ago, Core Temp was one of the first things I put on it, and had no problems with it until yesterday.

Any advice about how to remedy this so I can still use it without this problem? The last things that were installed were VC++ 2012 Redistributables (11.0.50727) and Vulkan Run Time Libraries (1.0.26.0) that came with the newest AMD drivers for my RX 480. But, this was done on Nov 18, 2 days before this problem started, and I had turned on and off my computer on the 19th with no problem.

Virtual RAM has always been slow compared to actual RAM. On my computer I have it turned off because I already have 16GB of DDR3 and most of the time I'm only using half of it. Although if you do disable the pagefile you could run into some errors if a program your using is using up most of your RAM. I've had problems with memory leaks with a bad version of Chrome Browser (Switched to Firefox).

The thing is, it's been at least a couple of weeks since I last updated Core Temp. For it to go bonkers now with RAM allocation is just weird, especially since it's meant to have a small footprint.

Could be why it got pushed to virtual memory? Maybe something else caused the high memory usage?

I'm not sure. All I know is that after logging in from a cold boot, and switching to Task Manager to see Core Temp allocate over 2GB before it drops off the radar and my computer slowing to a crawl shortly after gives me the impression it is Core Temp. Now, with Core Temp having a small footprint might be because it utilizes external libraries (maybe), and something might have gone wrong with those libraries. If that's the case, how would I check that out?

Could be how the program works. 2GB is quite high though and when I was having problems with Chrome using 3+GB of ram and slowing down my computer I switched to firefox that only uses 500!ish MB of ram. After 15 min from coldboot did the coretemp usage drop to normal?

I couldn't check because everything practically froze once the RAM got used up and virtual memory got used, and didn't let up even under a 20 minute session. I have to force a shutdown by the power button when this happens. I should note that I have 8GB of RAM.

Been thinking of doing a refresh on my system (that keeps my files, but resets Windows as if it's a fresh install).

8GB of ram is plenty. Did you try to boot into safemode? Maybe an alternative like Joe88 recommended is your best solution.

Booting into Safe Mode is fine, since it doesn't load the various programs like Core Temp. that's how I am able to uninstall it.
Giving HWiNFO a try as Joe88 suggested, but I gotta go through all the settings and such to get the info I'd like to display.
