On that "iso site" there's a retail version of Moon and has version 0 like the Luranti's .cia so i think that the version number is pointless and if you don't want to risk, wait 23rd for go online (if you're in Europe) otherwise i think it's already safe to go if the game already is in the stores in your country.

The Lurantis version was a retail version. Basically, any that have version 0 are dumped from retail carts. If they have version 16 or 32, they are ripped from the eShop. The argument is about if Nintendo can now detect people playing cia files with version 0 and know that they are illegal copies.

Oh dear god it worked, it worked!

Acraeus, I could pay you a beer right now.

I just unbanned myself from 002 using nothing but my own 3DS! This is incredible. And I suck at writing tutorials of any kind, so please don't count on me when it comes to that!
But basically

1. Inject an old NAND backup from when you were still installing a9lh (I did one before)
2. Use Decrypt9 to extract movable.sed from it

3. Use Decrypt 9 to extract movable.sed and LocalFriendCodeSeed_B from your current NAND that is banned
4. Use HxD (hex editor) to compare your old movable.sed with your LocalFriendCodeSeed_B, see how offsets 00000000/08 through 00000110/07 is the SAME!
5. Open up your NEW movable.sed with HxD and copy offsets 00000000/08 through 00000110/07
6. Open up LocalFriendCodeSeed_B with HxD and CTRL+A and then paste what you just copied
7. Save, inject to sysnand

This is how I did it, don't blame me if something goes wrong because I'm even worse at giving instructions than following them.

EDIT: Ignore strikethrough text, that is no needed and was just a part of me finding out HOW to do it, you don't need to do that.
umm so do i do this for SysNAND or EmuNAND?? sry for being nub

The only people that are receiving bans are the ones that played before the release date in their region, legal cartridge, CIA or freeshop. Stop spreading misinformation dude.
I am not spreading misinformation. They are banned after release date, but I did not claim they went online after release date and got banned after release date.

are there any precautions I should do?
I don't even know what precautions are there to prevent this from happening, other than obtaining the games and contents through legitimate means, and legally.

Other people know more than me in regards to illegitimate means, but I resort to legitimate means as much as possible.

How would they know they're illegal if the games are officially released now though.
Like, there's no way to distinguish a cart dump from an official cartridge now.
I don't care if people get the freeshop version or not, but I don't get why you're saying they can detect if it's illegal.
It would've been easy to detect when the games weren't released, but now they are released.

His argument is that Nintendo may be able to detect the version number of your cia. If they take this into account with the fact that you're playing a cia, and that v0 is impossible for cia - they can say beyond a doubt that you are pirating.

There's no evidence Nintendo is doing this, but it's possible.

If they have been sending activity data to Nintendo, then they would have detected freeshop or the homebrew app or any custom program we have and we would have been banned by now.

do you know the reason why not?

Think it has something to do with having a different LocalFriendCodeSeed_B between SysNAND and EmuNAND causes a brick or something. I'm assuming if you injected the same one into both SysNAND and EmuNAN it would be fine but I'd personally want to look it up more before risking it.

If they have been sending activity data to Nintendo, then they would have detected freeshop or the homebrew app or any custom program we have and we would have been banned by now.

Nobody has said anything about them being able to check activity log, even I think that is a bit farfetched.

How is v0 impossible for cia though?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't v0 just mean it's a cartridge dump? How does that make v0 incompatible with a .cia file?

The cias on the eShop are v16 and v32. Therefore a v0 cia is not possible to obtain legitimately.

Nintendo can probably tell you are using a cia (and not a cart) because your console specific code is being used as the header.

DISCLAIMER:
While Nintendo can probably obtain this data and use it to ban, there is no evidence that this is happening.

He is saying that v0 can't be a legal cia release. The eshop versions are 16 and 32 apparently. If you're playing a v0 cia, you're essentially setting yourself up to fail. That's what I got out of it.
