ROM Hack Are the sun and moon leak saves safe to import and go online with?
Most pokemon games are region free, I could live in Uk and get it imported from the US but nintendo dont see it like that. They just ban cause they would see im using a PAL device and pokemon SUMO is not released where I live.
A separate question, If I go online on the 23rd when its released will I still get banned?
Exactly, it's global, which proves my point. So no matter where you are, if you have the freeshop or legitimate version, you're fine.

You can go on now, the only way you're getting banned is if you used that leak online.
But if you wait a little and gamefreak releases a patch, the v0 could get updated to the current version. How i see this is that the leaked is an older version and the current ones are updated with a patch. Once gamefreak releases a patch globally, it could update the v0 as well. Right mate?

You can't use the leak.The leak has version 0 so that is why I'm assuming you have the leak installed.You eather need the cartridge copy of the game or the eshop/freeshop version of the game(version 32 for sun and 16 for moon) to go online.You also have to make shure that the copy of the game got released for your region,you can easily do this by going to the eshop and checking if the game is available to buy (delete the leaks software and ticket first though before entering the eshop to decrease your chance of getting banned)

It's best not to risk that.The leak comes from 4chan and is a reviewer copy so it's very likely it's rigged from going online.There is also a bug on it where if you enter the eshop and go to. The sun and moon section it asks you to update which isn't actually the update.

No, it is safe if it isn't version 0, no matter what region your 3ds is in or where you are.

That's basically what I sead.Dont use the version 0's.However there is someone here that got banned for using the freeshop version but he isn't from the us so most likely he has a eu console and Nintendo can detect if you are going online early.
Im reading lots of different things about it here. In another topic they basically say that retail v0 == cia v16/32. Im using the retail .3dz copy with my own private header and not .cia

Then that person may be misinforming others or the eu console counts with the us release,I'm not exactly shure then.All I know right now is the freeshop/eshop versions should be safe but someone here is saying they got banned when installing it somehow.

If i now understand correctly. The current legit cards that are sold are v0 as well.
So nintendo basically was banning people because the leaked card v0 was being played as .cia(which was not meant to be) and people went online with the v0 .cia version. If you are playing the v0 as a card, thus .3ds/3dz you should be fine, since the current legit card dumps are v0 as well. Only the current legit eshop .cia are v16/32.

That may be correct but a lot of people here are using the leak instead of there own dumps from the cartridge so most people who have a version 0 has to make shure it isn't that copy.The reviewer copy/leak was a easy target because it came out before the official ones released.
A person from the massive ban post had stated that the leaked v0 and the currently sold cards are identical. The v0 only matters if you play the v0 cia, because the v0 was not intented to be used as cia. However if you play the v0 like a card .3ds,3dz you should be fine.
Basically :
If you play the .cia , it should be v16 or v32
If you play the card, it should be v0

All events will stop progressing, including legendary encounters. They introduced some kind of save version check in the game this time. I tested this with both cart versions and a Moon save.
