Howdy! So since it's my 1000th post, I wanted to ask what your memories of GBATemp are?

Feel free to add to this list:
-What brought you here in the first place?
-Where do you usually like posting?
-What bothers you the most about GBATemp?
-What has surprised you the most about GBATemp and kept you around?
-Do you prefer lurking or posting?

-For me, it was probably the wii scene that brought me here. I've been a lurker for a long long time, as my anxieties make it difficult for me to engage in social platforms, even anonymously.
-3ds and wii u mainly, though the pc section is fun
-mainly just stuff that every forum has to deal with. namely determining how fresh or old/outdated information is. That and the search function is fairly useless.
-I'm not usually a fan of the forum structure, but gbatemp is clean, simple, and fairly straight forward. I think the lack of "you're not a REAL gamer unless you like x, y, and z" in this forum is nice, and even the jerks are jerky about things that don't bother me. So I stick around.
-lurking. but posting is fun on gbatemp for some reason, so I recently started posting more. I lurked for a long long time up until this year really, where i've been trying to get better about engaging in a meaningful way.

1- I like to post everywhere, because I am everywhere hahaha.
2- mostly Nintendo sections filled with children and entitled people, as well as long timer lurkers who shat on everyone because they believe GBAtemp is the worst community ever, while it is not.
3- The community of regular members. So many nice people around. Some of them became really good friends too.
4- I prefer to post! When I have something to say, I say it

I actually was a lurker for a long time. Began lurking here from 2009-2010 for DS homebrews and wii stuff. That's what interested me mostly. I never felt I would join the community before. Until the announcement of the Nintendont project, back to 2013, when Devolution was the shit. The very day I saw about this (I think I first heard about it from wololo.net), I instantly kept an eye here daily. I lurked everyday, craving for more. It was released in november, and that made me browse the site every night, reading most content. I finally decided to join in January 2014, because I liked the community, especially the Wii section. At first, I was a shy member, rarely posting elsewhere than the Nintendont thread (I think I may have over 2000 posts only there), until I got to know more members, and that the 3ds scene started to move in rapid succession. I began to be more and more active, until now, where I think I made up my reputation. And I have absolutely no intention to leave anytime soon!

- I think what happened was I just kinda stumbled onto this site and was like "wow console modding looks cool" and I joined.
- The EoF.
- I dunno, actually. I guess it's sometimes kinda annoying seeing people ask the same questions over and over because they didn't bother to read a sticky or Google their question.
- The people in the community, advancements in the scene for some devices, etc.
- Posting, but sometimes I like to lurk threads about consoles I don't know much about, don't own, or don't have interest in modding (or simply can't for one reason or another) like the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Oh, I just made my way onto the bottom of the most liked users list! Sure, it's nowhere near as big a milestone as getting to the top of it, but I think it's still pretty good considering my low-ish post count.

The idiots who don't know how to use the search box, and also the ones who still use rxTools for no reason.

I love the community. I've been an active 'Temper ever since I joined, and now I can't really imagine my life without this forum.

-Do you prefer lurking or posting?

Both.

For me...hmm, let's see

-I got a Wii for 10 bucks at a garage sale, and I was looking it up online, when I stumbled across some sites that said you could play wii/gamecube games...for free needless to say I poured over every single tutorial for wii hacking on GBAtemp that day. Didn't become a member for quite a few months, though.
-NEWS
-Members who complain needlessly/make trash posts outside of the EOF
-The tight-knight community
-Posting, and lots of it, mostly news though.

Actually, I don't even remember anymore, I signed up to take control over the 360 section (actually signed up to help)

360/Xbox/PSVita sections, I tend to stay out of the Nintendo sections.

Shitposters, memes, stupid fools.
-What has surprised you the most about GBATemp and kept you around?
The community, it really has had a positive impact on me life.
-Do you prefer lurking or posting?

Well I'm pretty new but:
1. I was just randomly browsing google and cam across the home page. It looked like a cool site so I said why not!
2. I like posting everywhere, but I mostly post in 3ds noob help threads because I like to give a helping hand
3. Hmm I haven't really found something that bothers me. Just that some people can kinda be a dick at times.
4. Surprise? Hmmm not too sure but what kept me around was the nice and helpful community and the fun threads!
5. If I understand what the thread is talking about then why not give a post?

Uhhh Half a year and more to come!

- I signed up at the time when Ninjhax 2.0 for the 3DS was being released.
- I often help out in the Vita sections since not many people lurk that particular section. I also absolutely adore the console, and the HENkaku hack definitely kept me around there more too!
- What bothers me about this place? ...Mostly the classic shitposters and familiar show-offs, but there's nothing really new there, to be honest...
- The ever-increasing userbase with an ever-increasing noob population keeps me around for the entertainment and cringe.
- I used to post a lot and be one of the familiar show-offs, but I usually just lurk now... guess life is finally catching up.

Probably the fact that my post count is low to me

The sheer amount of Canadians such as @ComeTurismO @2Hack @Tomato Hentai @VinsCool and so on Edit: the fact Gbatemp has so many Canadians also bothers me.

Back in my day, 500 posts used to mean something! People worked hard for their posts. Now they just shitposting! Damn kids! Free hacks and bullshit! Back in my day you earned your complaining! You paid to complain when your free games didn't work!
