Hey,
i can't keep up with all the things that get released because i simply don't have enough time atm to look through everything.
All i know is that there are 2 Dumper (1 Old and 1 new from Salt) 2 Iosuhax (1 Old and 1 improved from Dimok) and the "Brazilian" method.

Now my question is:
For the brazilian method i would need to use a USB HDD for the games and other things.
Rednand makes use of the SD Card and would be good because i have a 128GB one, but wouldn't i still need a USB hdd to install the game to and then move it to NAND (SD) or can i directly install into NAND?

ps: Can i use my DDD dumps in this situation or are they useless?

Thanks in advice

I totally recommend against the USB stick option.
First I used a no brand 16gb usb stick, then I used a 64gb samsung usb, then I used a 128gb SanDisk usb stick.
My Wii U broke ALL of them, they went into "write protected" safety mode (hardware fault) after a couple of months of usage. The 128gb stick costed back then some 30€.
Then, some time ago I got a 320gb 2.5" usb hdd for some 20€. This one has been working fast and flawless.

You can install directly to nand, and you can also just get rednand and bypass Brazilian entirely, use FunKiiU-I (https://gbatemp.net/threads/a-simple-gui-for-funkiiu-funkii-ui.446853) and WUP Installer y Mod (https://gbatemp.net/threads/wupinstaller-y-mod-with-mulitple-install-folders.445907)
That means i setup rednand and can install games directly to nand?
That would be nice.
Is it like the 3ds that if i install only the ticket, i can then Download the games from Eshop?

Just to make it clear, the "Brazilian" method is purely the creation of a correct ticket file. It's nothing to do with USB. That just happens to be one of the options that wupinstaller allows together with internal memory.

Do you just install the tickets or do you need to install the game while installing the ticket?

No, you cannot install only the ticket. You can just use FunKiiU-I and WUPyMOD to get games, we just need people to dump id's and keys.

portable usb hdd + y cable works the best, don't use usb "memory sticks" they are unreliable.
also now with the ability to dump games from .wud images to install on usb its better than ever :)

So in order to install them to the SD card i need to:
Dump my Sysnand
Setup Iosuhax and Rednand
Launch Rednand via Loadiine.ovh
launch Wupinstaller via Loadiine.ovh
Install the thing i downloaded via FunkiiU

is that correct?

this is the issue I'm having right now. I bought 1 TB drive. It said it was usb 2.0/3.0 but it would beep probably because of low power or whatever method it uses to work on 2.0. Then I swapped that for a 3.0 only drive but now I need a y cable to provide enough power. If you can find a 256 drive cheap I would probably do that because its simpler, otherwise I don't think 128 is going to be enough

you got it!

redNAND isn't even required if all you want is games without DLC...

To install games to the sysNAND you just need a program that downloads the ticket and game files... FunKiiU can do it if you don't mind the command line...

There's also a couple GUI ones available too...

Then once you have them you just use wupinstaller Y mod to install them...

the only thing you need on the wii side is the homebrew launcher and wupinstaller... once the games are installed you don't even need them anymore...

I'd suggest you visit the USB loading thread

What kind of hdd are you using? And do you have one with separate power supply or do you use a y cable or something? Because I also want to use a hdd instead of SD.

A 320 gb 2.5" hdd inside a usb 3.0 case with an usb y-cable (all this bought together in ebay for 20€).
No external supply.

I had an extra internal laptop drive available so I just bought a hard drive enclosure.

Any external hard drive with a Y-cable or power supply should work though... some don't even need a Y-cable...

At this point the redNAND creates a virtual Wii U system memory on the SD card and is limited to the same size as your actual Wii U...

If you wanted to use more than 8GB or 32GB of the 128GB SD card you'd be stuck with using loadiine for now...

Oh really?
That is interesting and nobody told me that..
Well then my story is over here until something new comes out.
Thank you
