I have been using wupinstaller. My 3ds and wiiu are tied to the same Nintendo ID. Recently tried to access mhgen online play, eshop, MK7 online, and its giving me error code 001-502 every time. Or I guess option 3 is Nintendo's servers are down. Which might be a warning that a patch is coming soon...
they do mantanence A LOT and never release anything. it almost always is just nintendo checking if there is any bug in servers or not

I would try clearing the network settings on your 3ds and wii u and then restart you modem/router to see if that helps.
I looked up the error code and it seems that its either a firewall issue, or that DMZ was turned on and for some reason that has caused issues for people wanting to play online I suppose?

No, and no. I don't have internet at home ATM. I have been using library wifi. So I wasn't sure what info was getting sent out from my wiiu without and filters. But it seems like that library either firewalled me, or the servers were just down because I'm at a different library and connected again now.
