ROM Hack Is SKY3DS or SKY3DS+ worse than GATEWAY 3DS except driving on 11.2.0-35?

I'm sorry for that I wrote the question on the forums, because I couldn't find "ask a question"

button because maybe I'm not 100 posts. Could I ask some questions?

I have a SKY3DS+. I must bought SKY3DS+ because my version was 11.1.0-34.

I think GATEWAY 3DS is superior than SKY3DS or SKY3DS + in many sides. It is right?

1. Is SKY3DS or SKY3DS+ worse than GATEWAY 3DS except driving on 11.2.0-35?

2. Are there any better points in SKY3DS comparing to GATEWAY 3DS except driving on 11.2.0-35?

3. Why is SKY3DS or SKY3DS+ possible to drive on newest updated version (ex:11.1.0-34 -> 11.2.0-35) each time?

4. Will SKY3DS or SKY3DS+ be possible to drive on until 3DS' final updated version(ex:14.2.0-40)?

Sky3ds works because it spoof the game as a cartridge which is why it has buttons. (I think)

Gateway is modding the cart to read the mirco sd of the gateway red card so that requires cfw. (I think)

Sky3ds should work forever.

TBH sky3ds isn't better or worst then gateway. Sky3ds is good for latest firmware. Gateway was a good cfw but has been replaced by better and free cfws like Luma3ds.

Gateway is terrible no matter what version you're on or what you use it for. Sky3DS+ is good if you don't have access to CFW.

Can't play dlc with sky3ds but can buy dlc with sky3ds from eshop i think.

no.... either you purchase through eshop or simply you can't have any dlc.

unsigned cia installation is not possible on your firmware version.

sky3ds+ it's not that bad.
it is possible to treat it as a semi gw card (which can load modified version .3ds rom) after you setup cfw...(downgrade needed tho..)

Actually, cfw + sky3ds+ is a really good combo. Cfw patches include signature patch which allows 3ds load unsigned .3ds from sky3ds+ ( blocked on stock firmware)

I agree but if you have CFW with a GateWay its just the same but with a rom menu which is handy. You can always boot to GW CFW even if your primary is Luma

Sky can be used to downgrade. But you only use gw when your firmware version is downgradable for free.…
Gw is a not bad option for rom load up tho.

Sky doesn't have conflict with free to use cfw.

Most of the ppl who have a Gateway card bought it on day one (inculding me) and no, in general GW is better than Sky3DS for the most part and it still works (even with franken firmwares, including 11.2).

No. Just, no. GW should under no circumstance be used. If you are on 9.2 or lower, you can install A9LH, which is better in every way, for free. If you're on 9.3 to 11.1, you can downgrade to 9.2. GW doesn't work on 9.3+ anyways. If you're on 11.2, you should just wait until the self-DSI downgrade thing get's released (if it works for 11.2 anyways) and downgrade to 9.2 from there.

Just look at his signature, no point in even trying to have a discussion with him. Gateway has done a good job because thanks to them CFW exists, they opened the doors to the world of free CFW. I mean he even says Sky3DS is somehow good when they changed 3 carts trying to rip-off their customers and only their 3rd one is actually upgradeable.

On topic, whatever you do don't get Sky3DS, there are tons of free ways nowadays.

No what exactly? Its plug and play and it still works...... I never said something negative towards free alternatives or that GW is better than free CFW.

CFW can use ROMs. They're called CIAs. And from what I've heard Gateshark is pretty easy to use. Even if it wasn't, I don't think a better cheat system justifies spending $80+ on a GW card. They're unreliable and built off of stolen code. They've even deliberately bricked users before.
