look, its not like a random police is gonna find me doing shady sht like this. and some kids got parents that doesnt allow them to buy more games . anything can happen inn this world. think about it .

I'm just joking mate, i've pirated myself and on some other threads put my stand about the whole deal...

I live in a third world country where games cost a ridiculous amount of money, like let's say you earn 1500$ a month on some normal job, and a game costs 60$, the game would cost you 4% of your salary. (throwing numbers out there)
Here if you have a decent job (which is not the minimum wage, and they're really hard to find), you'd earn about 70-80$ a month, that same game would cost you about 75-90$ for no apparent reason. (one may say importing fees+the sellers benefit), it costs about 100%-120% of your monthly wage. Which is completely ridiculous.

Not to mention that obscure games won't see the light of day here, you'd only find things like super mario, mario kart, call of duty, etc. No indies whatsoever.
So yeah, since nintendo/sony/microsoft doesn't put their games here, they become incredibly expensive. And people would normally tell you to import games, right? Well, you can't. $ are controlled by the government and incredibly hard to get, unless you go black market and they cost a whole lot more. Which still prevents you from buying because the stuff you buy get stuck at the custom store/harbor(?) I don't know the right word.
So yeah, It doesn't justify it, but even if I want to go legit (i have bought a few legit games), Turns out I can't while I live in this country.

ight i feel you and yeah it totally ridiculous i understand the others how they feel about this like my little brother for example. he couldn't buy games only on his birthday. so when a crazy game that he wants come buy i will buy it for him but unlike the 3ds i just pirate the games for him to make him feel better and talk with the different community of different games. i want him to experience the game right when it comes and the community is still relevant. not when its too late.

Another thing, I'm an adult that is studying their degree and has an actual substantial job, I live with my mother and my brother and I'm the one practically in charge of everything so it's not really about the deal of having no money and no way to get the stuff. It's that even if I want to get the stuff that i like, I can't, or I have to pay a ridiculous amount of money to someone scamming me just because they somehow snuck the game into the country.

Licensing issues or false/abandoned promises to localize games have been a big one where pirating ends up as the only sane solution.

A good example of this is Detective Conan: The Mirapolis Investigation. It was released in Europe with intentions for a North American release but it never happened. The game is expensive to import and it is easier to play on Wii and Wii U via USB loaders than from the disc itself.
