Wow! I read all your replies and there were some really good points being made. Do you guys think that there will be new mario games at launch, and if so, which ones? Just curious.

- No dual screen, it shutdowns to play on TV (where is displayed Zelda or Splatoon's map? no more real time maps, or item menu, etc.)
? Maybe multi screen possible with two devices? one on TV, one on tablet?
? Maybe WiiU gamepad compatible? no BC needed, it's only a visual support and controller working in wifi.
? Local Multi player possible in mixed mode? TV+Tablet?
? touch screen (10 touch capacitance rumored, but you can't touch while in TV mode so probably not a right rumor)
- region locked (because it's Nintendo, what did you expect?)
+ Dev can focus on a single version for their games, no need to develop the game twice for handheld and console mode. though, it will not make the game price lower....
+ On the fly Switch TV/Tablet mode.
± Better CPU when put on its TV support? for Full HD support, maybe enhanced graphics. it means less quality when "on the go", but probably enough for the screen size.
- 1 Battery per device (1 per controller, 1 tablet), same autonomy ?
± Cartridge. Fast loading, but more expansive to produce. 32GB max size? bigger games will require extraction/installation/DLC/dual cartridge? you probably can't switch cartridge, while disc switching was possible. Not a lot of games are >32GB.
? internal storage size. It will ALWAYS be too small.
± I hope we can copy cartridge to internal (no need to carry lot of cartridges with you) ... lot of cartridge "on the go" yeah, sure. They are providing a cartridge case with the console?
- USB is only on the TV support, not the tablet.
- JoyCon too small when detached and played with one of them. lack of buttons.
? GPS/Gyro/motion sensor?
+ seems there are more Third parties interested in it than WiiU. I hope there will be even more with time.
? open platform? indie game support?
? Old Tegra/SHIELD games backward compatible? NVidia services etc.
? Android support? probably not.

- Still using their usual eShop/mii/miiverse? We don't need Mii anymore. New console, new account management. it's not a Wii, we don't need Mii. Grow up.

? Marketing team. Really, they should hire people to make proper marketing and advertisement. Stop showing ridiculous smiling peoples playing unknown consoles on TV ads, show the games! Make people want to play the game, and they will buy the console.

Pros - I think it will be backwards compatible with the Wii U
Cons - its specs are going to suck so there will be no 3rd party ports of AAA games from xbone or pisspoor

No, Nintendo of Japan already mentioned that it won't be a backwards compatible with the Wii U at all. It will be the first time they ever had.. No backward compatible like PS4. Maybe Wii U VC, yes.

+ Always have controllers available for 2-player, say you're visiting someone and you bring the NX without any extras and they want to join they can.
+ Seems to do just about everything, playing multiple people together on one device or linking multiple devices together or even doing both at the same time, both at home and on the go. I hope the online system is just as solid.
+ Zelda on the go :D

- Somewhat bulky, especially compared to tablets.
- Weird D-pad on the detachable controller. I understand they did it to allow 2-player with the detachable controllers, but I'm probably going to be using the Pro controller most of the time because of that.

Might think of more later.
+ Name. Ends 10 years of awful "Wii" tyranny.
+ Powerful portable.
- Maybe weak home console.
- Battery Life
+ Small, tidy home console.
- Bulky handheld with no screen protection.
- Seems like a lot of parts and gadgets to worry about.
+ Looks like good 3rd party interest.
+ Good multiplayer system.
+ Value, since it covers both home console and portable. No need to buy both now.
± Backwards compat. Would be a huge + if at least 3ds was supported.
I wouldn't worry about battery life, with how chunky the thing and generally how tablets usually have pretty good battery life, I'm sure they've put a reasonably sized battery in it. Then again the Wii U gamepad comes with a tiny battery, so you never know.

Emulation, possibly?

Perhaps... VC or ports, possibly. Here:

....the appearance of these ports would support rumors reported earlier this year reported by Eurogamer, NintendoLife, and more that several Wii U titles would be ported to Nintendo’s next console.

For now, its only a rumor. So don't trust the rumor. Trust Nintendo and their source only. Anyway, Nintendo didn't say anything about it just yet.

Right now.. a good news:

NINTENDO SWITCH WILL SUPPORT UNREAL ENGINE 4

I answered yes in the poll because I eventually always get Nintendo consoles for the first party games. But I'm way more excited for this than I was for Wii U.

Pros (aside from the obvious portability):
The gimmick here isn't so radically different as to alienate the platform from the rest. It could still be a reason to buy a game on this platform despite it being exactly the same as the PS4 or Xbox One versions in terms of gameplay. So it seems to be more developer friendly in that regard.

It appears to be on or near par with the current generation going by Skyrim Remastered being in the video. PS4Pro or Scorpio titles are still going to be developed with their predecessors in mind so Nintendo isn't as far behind this time around.

Local multiplayer is still being heavily supported by Nintendo. You don't have to buy extra controllers to play with your friends. And it supports wireless link like the DS/3DS.

Cons:
It's big for a handheld device. I would need to carry it around in a backpack or something. Same issue I had with Vita and its analog sticks making it awkward to put in my pocket unlike the 3DS.

Battery life could be an issue. I can't think of many use cases where I'd personally use it for more than 30 minutes at a time outside my home but for long trips a power adapter or external power source would be essential. Would it raise the clock if it's plugged in while in tablet mode or would that just be for the 1080p display via the dock?

The fan could be annoying if it vibrates the device or is loud. But it's understandable that it's needed.

Does it have a touchscreen? Why is Nintendo being so quiet about that? It would need to be non-essential for software to be fully playable while in the dock which should be a given but perhaps they'll make that a clearer point at a later date so it doesn't get swept up in the initial noise.

Little brothers and sisters will have to deal with using the shitty 'right' Joy-Con with the awkward analog stick placement. But at least they get the labelled buttons.

No traditional D-Pad on the Joy-Cons. Fighter enthusiasts will have to spring for the Pro controller. I'll be getting it anyway.

All of these are just guesses or opinions. I think only like a tiny slim of posts are the only ones gave real pros and cons. First of all the Switch doesn't have a touch screen, if it did it would count as a gimmick because playing it as a home console with it in need of a touch screen would be hard without some accessory, second it's specs haven't been released so you having a assumption doesn't count as a statement.

Pros: No Wii brand.
Portable console with TV out.
Cons: Most likely portable console power.
Will be battery hell with 3 things to worry about (Tablet and the L and R joycons).

It also ends 12 years of DS tyranny XD I mean, it could have been called New 3DSiXL lite & knuckles like that image i saw somewhere here for all we know...

+ Looks interesting for its TV/Portable capabilities
+ A good 3rd party support

- The controls, I may get used to them in a future, but I don't count on that too much
- Seems a bit bulky or just a straight hassle to bring out in the open

- Cartridges.
- No more "Wii"

Cons:
- No backwards compatibility (I know it's to be expected, but still)
- Kinda looks like a toaster.
