As we get closer to the release date of the newest entries in the mainline Pokemon series, excitement is hitting a fever-pitch, as fans wonder what new features and creatures Sun and Moon will add. Well, wonder no more, as the notable Pokemon hacker "Kaphotics" has datamined the demo, giving insight to a few interesting things that are included in the game. Spoiler Warning for those who want to go in blind to Sun/Moon, and not have any prior knowledge, as the following will spoil things like the starters final evolutions, shiny Pokemon colors, unannounced Pokemon, and Alolan forms. For those that don't mind spoilers, let's get to it.

• There are going to be "around 800" Pokemon in the Pokedex now
• Geodude family line has an Alolan form
• New attacks, Psychic Terrain, Throat Chop, Aurora Veil
• There is an item called Electrium Z
• There are 186 trainer classes in the demo, and 720 attacks
• There is an Ash-Pikachu form, which dons the classic hat from Ash in the anime

I'm only not happy with too many "anime stuff" being part of the game canon, :/ strating with pikachu losing his original sound and taking too many load on ingame extras like these cosplay etc being only for it ... I bet my " satoshi's pikachu" I got later on Platinum/ SS on an online event aren't going to get a hat if transfered to sun moon, right?:B
And they haven't updated the logo with my versions :c

Well I want to know if I can translate it already XD

Plus, I'm just happy that the other Pokemon don't follow their anime cry XD
(Though, I think the anime, at least japan side, is cutting down a lot on Pokemon saying their only name)

You are wrong, the games come far first than the anime, the name was mad elike all the other pokemon had for the game, but becaus ethe anime, the localziation haven't changed pikachu's name and keep the original dub
remind that pokemon red and green come out in japan in 96, the anime in 97.Western red and blue only in 98, the anime was there already so they came with both at time because marketing

The demo accidentally had the full dex last night. Several sites are already posting the full thing. Legendary pre-evos, nearly every g1 pokemon getting aloha forms and the new dex apparently allows you to see any moves a caught pokemon can learn

I know the games came first, and that was in a time of major technical difficulties...

I'm just saying if it was a real life scenario, something could be named based on the noises they make.
Like many foreign languages and how they originally named "cats" in their language, for example. (its usually based on meowing sounds).

Anime isn't a filler, it is more of a way to draw in popularity to the franchise.
Game's can't be released every week, you know.

Games and anime will spin off to various toys, merchandise, movies, money making opportunities.

See, as much as we want to split the anime away from the game, it's both part of the Pokemon Company.
It is both money making tools for them.

Furthermore, sadly, the gap between anime and games are shrinking.
Anime series are timed to follow game releases. Games even reference anime occurances nowadays (Steven's Metagross, Alain's appearance with Steven etc etc).

At least only Pikachu got changed.
I think if every Pokemon got changed I'll go crazy too (sheer madness)
