Yes it reboot automatically at the end of the downgrade

Thanks! I will be following the rest of the guide today, to get the A9LH & Luma installed.

It does reboot but it doesn't mean the downgrade is successfull.
Sometimes it errors on the NATIVE_FIRM, reboots and you'll have 9.2 on sys version but you have the N_FIRM on the FW you were (franken firmware)

It's better to run the downgrader once more and see if it doesn't install anything else.

Or, to make sure you have a clean downgrade, run this homebrew app made by @zoogie:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/potenti...after-downgrading.410075/page-10#post-6006406

Mismatched or missing files is a sign that the downgrade isn't clean but extra titles is OK.

I just now saw this. Luckily, it must have done the full downgrade… because I was able to finish the rest of the guide successfully. I'll keep this in mind in case I ever get another 3DS in the future. It was a long process, but in the end, it is worth it. Definitely not something I look forward to doing anytime soon. Thanks again for all of your help!

Having some trouble getting Decrypt9 to work.

I bought a Gateway card about three years ago, so my SysNAND is still on 4.4.0-10U. According to the guide at https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-1-(ARM9), I just have to put the Decrypt9 files on my SD card, open my browser, and go to one of the URLs listed. When I type in any of the URLs, however, it always kicks me out of the browser and says, "An error has occurred. Please save your data in any software currently in use, then restart the system."

I've tried initializing the save data in the browser a couple of times since it seems to be a common problem, but I still get the same error.

I also tried the non-browser method using the blue Gateway card and booting decrypt9.nds, but this gives me the error, "An error has occurred, forcing the software to close. The system will now restart."

Lastly, after reading some other posts, I formatted my system data since I figured it was worth starting from square one, but I still get the same errors. What am I missing?

EDIT: I also get the same error now when I go to "Nintendo DS Profile" after trying to re-install the Gateway files. Is this fixable?

You only need Launcher.dat and Decrypt9WIP.dat from the Decrypt9WIP zip to the root of your SD card.

When going to browser, disconnect your 3DS WIFI.
Open the browser and scroll down to clear save data and click it.
You return to home menu.
Open the browser again and initialize it. Then click URL and write one of the links of the guide (for me, the reboot.ms has better boot rate)
It will warn about no active internet.
Disregard the warning and close the browser.
On Home menu, set WIFI to ON.
Open browser and Decrypt should launch (you don't have to enter the link)
If you won't, you can do the steps again with another link.

Try until it Works.

Got it to work after going through those instructions, although I might have a bigger problem now.

I've uploaded the LOG file that got saved to my SD card when I ran Decrypt9. According to this file, it failed on step six, saying "NATIVE_FIRM not available for region," "NATIVE_FIRM not found, failure!" "Auto CTRNAND Transfer: failed!" and then I pressed start to reboot so I could reload Decrypt9 and try again.

When I turn on my 3DS, I just get a black screen. I tried removing my Gateway Card and SD card with no luck. I can boot into recovery mode by holding L + R + A + START, which asks me if I want to update my system. Do I have any options except to try this and see what happens? Assuming potential brick.

If you were downgrading, I hope you made the backups of the Emunand and the Sysnand and "Nintendo 3DS" folder of the SD card(at least, a hardmod can save you).

Now, some thoughts:
Did you recall doing any downgrade with the Gateway, or Time Machine (don't really know but saying what I heard on here)?
Only assuming that the Gateway made changes to the NFIRM and it errored on Decrypt9.
Also, usually when it errors, you have to re-run the Auto-Transfer WITHOUT rebooting, until it Works (at least, that's what I try when it errors since you can always eject the SD to change NAND files and whatnot).

In which part of the guide did you stop?
Maybe you can try to do a cart update instead of a Recovery update. This would leave you on the FW the cart has.
Although I don't know if it will work, just trying to give you options.
See if this key combo Works:
Other:While booting up a 3DS system that is not set up, with a 3DS Game Card in it: A+B+X+Y+R -> force the game to boot, regardless of setting up the system

In worst case, you can update to latest FW and will still have a working console.
Then downgrade it with DSiware Downgrade (with another CFW console).

Also maybe you should post this on Noobs Paradise to see if someone else has other ideas:

I just have one question. I am sorry if if has already been asked, I just can't afford to brick this 3DS. If I already have the latest Luma3DS set up with Menuhax and a boot manager, what step of the guide should I start at? Or should I just reset the 3DS? I would like to keep my games and save data if at all possible. ELI5 if you want. I am been deleting and reopening the guide tab over and over twiddling my thumbs on if I want to/or even have the time to set of a9lh. Thanks for any help!

Hi,

I'm having an issue when I'm trying to do an ctrtransfer with Decrypt9.

I have an O3DS EUR with firmware 4.3.0-5E
The 2 files '2.1.0-4E_ctrtransfer_o3ds.bin' and '2.1.0-4E_ctrtransfer_o3ds.bin.sha' needed for the ctrtransfer are copied in the /files9/ folder on the root of the SDCard.
After I have made an successfull SYSNAND Backup, Decrypt 9 is checking the .sha of '2.1.0-4E_ctrtransfer_o3ds.bin'
But when it is finished with checking, I got the following message 'Auto CTRNAND Transfer: failed!'.

When I look in the Decrypt9.log then it says the following:

Step #1: .SHA verification of CTRNAND image...
Checking hash from .SHA file...
Failed, image corrupt or modified!
Auto CTRNAND Transfer: failed!

I have tried to redownload the '2.1.0-4E_ctrtransfer_o3ds.zip file from the torrent, but somehow it is corrupted.

Is there another way to download this zip file?

Thanks in advance!

Never mind, it is working now.
Probably my card reader is not working correctly.
I have copied the files from another computer and now it is working.

Hello everyone,
I took a break from my 3DS before a9lh started, and I want to switch to a9lh now. I have a New 3DS on 10.2 Emunand and 9.2 sysnand. I used wurstpistole guide to set CFW up on my 3DS. I have been using Rei CFW. Is it safe to assume I can start at step 3 since I have menuhax installed already?

based on my knowledge and the fact that you have 9.2 sysNAND n3ds, then yes.

Hi all,

I am following Plailect's guide and I am stuck on Part 3 - Section 4 (Injecting FBI)

I was able to boot to Hourglass9 and do the Health&Safety Dump. But when I went to Health&Safety Inject, the only option I have is hs.app. When I press the directional buttons I don't get any options for FBI related files. I double-checked and I do have the FBI Injectable files in the Files9 folder and the FBI cia file in the cia folder.

Any idea on what I am missing?

You might be on a low firmware version. Last time I checked, v4.x should manually inject fbi to the hs.app

I just completed a system transfer from an O3DS to a N3DS. Fieldrunners did not transfer over. I tried to copy it from the O3DS to SD to N3DS but it says it can not be installed. I also tried to re download it from the eshop but It wants me to pay for it again.

Is there a way to fix this or do I have to wait a week and start over?

During the system transfer process it did not ask me if I wanted to transfer DSiWare to the SD card.

It should always ask if you want to move it to the SD card. You will have to wait a week and start over if it did not transfer and that you didn't move it to the SD card. Next time, pay more attention to what's being said on screen because it should and will ask you to move Fieldrunners over to the SD card.

I know it "should always ask" but it didn't. Also the ticket for the game did not transfer as well. Is there a reason why it would not have transferred? You know, just so I can avoid the same thing happening next week.

I have done this a few times but this is the first time that the game or ticket did not transfer.
