what I mean by "flashes" is that I click on it to open it and its open for a second and it closes like instantly... I even tried to open the app in administrator and it didn't work... I tried using cmd (also admin cmd) and it still didn't convert...

I posted this in the computer forums because Idk if this is a 3ds hardware problem, pc problem or, just me being stupid... please help me, I really want to play pokemon neo Y

EDIT: I mispellled ctrtool... lol

That's normal. Console apps usually close when they're finished.

If you're on Windows, Shift+Right-Click in the same folder, and choose "Open command window here". Then type "ctrtool", press enter, and it should show the usage.

Can you say what command you're using?
here's the command i'm using... copying the command from the subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/3dshacks/comments/3ysmqd/braindum_finally_finished_and_no_romfs_just_a_big/

One of the following must have happened:
- You didn't specify where the input file is (there'd probably be a different message if this was the case)
- The given file path doesn't exist
- The given file isn't the correct format. Maybe the ROM is encrypted.
its a cxi file and I liked it in the previous update of braindump when it dumped the files onto the sd instead of holding it all in a cxi file...
